Cubs must learn how to hunt to survive, but that doesn't mean they'll pass up an easy meal. What are your thoughts on the outcome of this hunting lesson?

My thoughts are, she is a great mom and her cubs will be great hunters!

This has an important lesson for humans. Kittens must be taught how to hunt in order to survive - regardless if they're bobcats or offspring of domestic cats. They may have strong instincts, but they MUST BE TAUGHT HOW TO SURVIVE. Dropping a kitty (or kitten) off (in a park, wild area, or strange neighborhood) which never learned this is the height of cruelty... they DO NOT SURVIVE WITHOUT HUMAN ASSISTANCE - unless they'd learned how to (and most house cats never learned). I've had my heart broken many times going out into a park or wild area, and finding the skeletons of cats or kittens who starved to death. We have too many cats now, as much as we love them, because of dropped off kitties. (They're all fixed and had their shots, but the cost... was painful to put it mildly.) Be kind, and if you have a kitten or cat, get it fixed and take proper care of it. Cats and kittens learn to love their humans... and it is a heartbreaking betrayal of their trust to drop them off, even in a strange neighborhood. Don't do it! (Poor people, like us, often end up being forced to care for the thrown-away pets of better off people. At least we, who aren't 'comfortable', care about and think beyond ourselves - and we have a clowder of some of the sweetest cats one could ever want to meet!)
