the Bobcat rep convinced me this was the best thing for us. Wish I'd never bought it. Got it with the gutter broom. I run a DPW in NY State and we have to sweep streets every spring. We need to sweep one broom width on the adjacent lawns and you can't use this for that. I switched to our angle broom to do that. Afterward, I put this box broom back on and ran the curbline with the gutter brush running. The gutter brush works great, but the hopper doesn't keep everything in. You can't safely pick up the unit to dump into a truck, even though the rep said you could. There's warnings on it not to. So what- you dump it on the street and the loader tries to pick it up. Ok, so I was able to carefully and slowly dump the hopper into our JD444 loader bucket and that dumps into the truck. This broom spills sand and debris back out the sides constantly. If you want a clean street, you're doing lap after lap. We had to purchase a new power angle broom and stick with that, so I've got a ton invested in this unit and it's good for scouring dirt from curbs.... I'm very disappointed. You show sweeping after milling. Let me tell you- it needs to be good and clean before tack coat and top, and this unit doesn't do it. If Bobcat would like to reply to this with any info, offer, whatever, please do so. The local shop wasn't any help nor was the Bobcat Corp. when I called.

@@BobcatCo the local Boro i work for is going through the same thing. We were sold this unit to replace our old street sweeper with the gutter broom and it’s worse than useless for us. Can’t empty into a truck. Takes a dozen passes for a less than acceptable clean and emptying into a dump truck like we were sold on is impossible. Plus we waiting over a year and bought a brand new toolcat at the same time. Bad business practices false advertising at the least

It works okay, but how do keep the bucket free of wet mud or some snow? What is the safest way of getting it clear before it freezes in the bucket?

Anyone know if a Bobcat CT235 compact tractor will run this effectively? Obviously the flow rate is way down vs a skid steer, but I can rent this for $150 over the weekend, if i add a skid steer it becomes a $500 weekend. If i can run it off of my tractor at say half the RPMs that seems ok. I can just go slower...i only need it for 3-4 hours anyway.
