You would'nt think a Bobcat would mess with a deer. But in this case looks like a baby deer.

I live in Pennsylvania and beside the Bobcat here, the Eastern Coyote also is the top predator for Whitetail deer. Our deer population here is in the top 5 States in the United States as far as population of deer concentration per square mile, and both the Bobcat and Coyote are numerous as well.

Pennsylvania has good deer numbers but I would argue there’s more than 5 states that knock it out of the park.

I track wild animals all the time. Bobcats are some tuff wild cats! Not the biggest, but they are feroucious!

Our pet bobcat was 2 days old when we saved it from a Badger who killed his mother. The Badgers back in Texas are two to three times the size of the Honey Badgers here in Africa and more vicious .

I know deer can kick with lots of power, but was wondering do they ever think to bite as well ? Was thinking that momma deer could have bit that bobcat to distract and then kicked it with it’s powerful hind legs, to save the fawn ! But I’ve never seen a deer try and bite for protection or defense ! When it’s life or death situation seems that they would try too ?

It's my opinion, for what it's worth, that mostly ungulates won't try to bite as a defensive response because it exposes their eyes to retaliation from the predator. What good is it to survive a predatory attack and come out blinded.
