Being a drummer, I have to say Carlton Barrett is one of my all-time favorites. No one talks about him, but he is laying down the wood.😎

Couldn’t agree more, this is one of my favorite live recordings of the Wailers. And the way Carlton Barrett plays this song, it is truly a masterpiece.
@Boy_Gentle2 ай бұрын
Tell me about it. I sometimes listen to this song just to hear the drumming. Carlton is my favorite drummer; it seems like he’s sending a message of healing and encouragement with his style of drumming; so much grove, so much vibe. This is drumming at its best

Bob had the whole Wailers musicians and the I threes on point live. 1977 at the Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park up the road from where i lived in Hackney. Wasn't old enough but always regret never hearing Bob live. Went from Hackney with my bruv in 82 i think it was would have been 13/14 to watch Black Uhuru with Sly n Robbie play live at Crystal Palace football ground. Black Uhuru them days were opening concerts for the biggest rock acts like the Rolling Stones.

Carlie and Aston had the "lock". Carlie could go anywhere on the kit, shift time, expand time, or just stay in the pocket and did, knowing Aston played that bass like building a structure. 💯 Solid.

Alex Smith Yes Yes & YessssssssssssI again Alex his energy is electrifying, I love watching, seeing Bob Nester Marley jump around dance, do the Jesus freeze frame on stage. I don't know if he truly realize the affect he had on people. I truly believe he knew why he was sent to this earth, at that time, & in the end (JAH) said my good & faithful servant, you have accomplished what you were sent to do. In the meantime come rest with me ..It's been said Bob was in pain, at the end of life on this earth but the LORD JAH did not allow long suffering. Only GOD knows why he was allowed to leave us the way he did, not when, but of course God knew when the day he was born. Forever One Love!

I cant believe that in 2020 I'm only now seeing this edit of this performance of 'Heathen' live at the Rainbow! I've had this concert on VHS since the late 80s and that edit is the only one I've seen until today! Incredible to see different views of the musicians on stage. This is wicked!!!
