Honestly, the painting is fantastic, but it's the personal, human moments that Bob drops in that keep me coming back. What a treasure he was, and what a treasure these shows are.

Bob got me through my first bout of Covid when I was very close to needing hospital. In my better hours I would binge watch Bob Ross and it calmed me so much. I know i'm not the alone in saying it, but Bob truly was a blessing.

I love it when he says, "I know what you're thinking. 'Oh, you've really done it this time, Bob.' And you may be right." Then he creates a masterpiece. A sign of a true artist.

I tried paint this, i painted outside. When i was going along with him with the body of water i felt a soft fresh breeze hit me. It was wonderful.

I watched him a lot in my younger years, but didn't have the money to start painting on my own. I'm in my 50s now, and just getting started, but I'm enjoying it! So yeah, there really is a "Joy of Painting". So thankful for Bob.

Bob Ross was great! He was humble yet he moved so many people with his painting and personality. He makes everyone feel confident that they too can do good paintings. We could use a lot more Bob Ross type people in this world.

I swear he can paint like somebody took a picture! He's like, the next Da Vinci or something. Overall, he's a fascinating man altogether! soothing, deep voice, very calm attitude, and he paints like he's showing you an actual picture!!!!!! LOVE IT!

I started watching Bob every night in bed. I know screens in bed aren't good, but it doesn't seem to matter, he is better than melatonin, which I used to have to take every night. I can't make it through an episode - no matter how interested and awake I am at the beginning, I'm falling asleep by halfway through.

*When he's talking to the camera in the beginning, he's nervous, he fumbles on words, twitches a little, but when he starts painting, he's in his element. Everything he says is smooth and flows perfectly. Bob Ross is truly a painter.*

I have recently started painting along with Bob but using acrylics - adapted a bit but it's so much more relaxing to do. His way of doing it is just chillaxed and when i stuff up it's a happy accident. It's hard to choose from which to start. I will be starting this painting tomorrow.

Me too. I'm doing an oil painting now and am having trouble doing a pond. Got some pointers here. Mine needed more downward lighter strokes at the top to give it appearance of reflection. It made my pond look much better. What I like about oil other than it's beauty, is if I make a mistake i can rub it off and repaint over it pretty easily since it doesn't dry fast at all.

At 5:58 when he says "I bet your thinking he's really messed up this time " that's exactly what I was thinking !. I thought he covered up that beautiful sky too much . It turned out ok but I still thought he should have left more sky and I didn't think it was one of his better paintings. But the pond was good and that's what I came to watch, how to paint a pond. I learned a few things.

+4k Fractals Bob knew a large amount of his viewers did so just because it was great to sit down with a coffee or tea and relax to. ASMR as a concept - and especially as a term - wasn't a thing in the eighties, though.
