This video came along at the right time for me, i just got back into guitar and wanted to do some recording/streaming and needed a way to simulate amps. Thanks for the videos, theyre helpful and fun - i see them on tiktok all the time.

Just a small nitpick, I think it's called an audio interface not a sound card. Sound cards are something you used to attach to old pcs to get better audio signal, now they are usually built into your motherboard. Also, For Mac and IOS friends, GarageBand is also a DAW and you can even connect your guitar through the audio interface to it.

Thanks for the video i just ordered my first electric guitar (i went with the kramer assault 220, because it kinda looks like bocchi's but its evil twin thats a little broke) and i kinda winged it buying the focusrite without exactly figuring out the intricacies of it all. Thanks and keep going i need all the help i can get.

idk why anyone would be curious about that but i actually use a pedalboard called cube-baby as my interface :)
@hamburger042121 күн бұрын
Yeah, surprisingly it works pretty well for a budget interface. Though using it as a standalone effects rig is kind of underwhelming, but for the price, it's good enough. Bocchi's tone though is really satisfying to get in cube baby

Good video, I am a bass player on a budget and was wondering what digital interfaces are good for cheap? I was considering the Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD since that's basically my price range, Focusrite is a bit pricy for me, especially the 2i2's and I can't find any 3rd gens. What do you say?
@QerstyBassАй бұрын
the behringer ones are alright. the midas pres in it are pretty decent

im using a 6.35mm to 3.5mm adapter and connect it directly to my pc/laptop. It sounds like crap but it's okay enough for practicing and depending on what software you use there's maybe some delay/latency. Its extremely cheap compared to a digital interface so might as well try it
@JohnReneEliaGallaza-fj9lgАй бұрын
Not sure about build wise, but sound and software wise I've seen in a review that the M-Track solo or duo is better than the Behringer, you can check that out too.

@@JohnReneEliaGallaza-fj9lg maybe compared to a U-Phoria UM2 which is 16 bit, the UMC202HD is 24 bit.

And, if possible, could you perhaps do quick reviews and comparisons between budget audio interfaces (or as you called them sound cards), and explain how each one is different from the other in terms of price, performance, popularity, etc.... of course if possible ehehe 😅😅

Another question, is it possible to connect an amp through the headphone jack of your sound card/audio interface in order to hear what you are playing in real time?
@theheadpriestАй бұрын
the headphone jack on the digital interface plays back the amplified sound from the pc, not the guitar signal, you need a splitter box to split your guitar signal to the amp and the digital interfact, or get some good speakers and connect them to your digital interface.
@JohnReneEliaGallaza-fj9lgАй бұрын
@@theheadpriest Sorry, I kind of dont get it 😅. So if I connect an amp to an audio interface as I play can I hear the guitar sound with the effects from the virtual amp on the laptop?
@theheadpriestАй бұрын
@@JohnReneEliaGallaza-fj9lg Ok so let me explain. Your guitar signal goes through the digital interface into your computer where it gets *amplified* then it's sent back to the digital interface into the headphone jack, the headphone jack does not emit a guitar signal but a already amplified sound that you can hear. You can either: A. Buy a splitter that splits your guitar signal into two, one of which you can connect to your amp and the other to the DI for recording or B. Connect some speakers to your DI output.
@JohnReneEliaGallaza-fj9lgАй бұрын
@@theheadpriest ah okay, I somewhat get it, I think. The input jack on an amplifier is for guitar signal right? Say my amp has an AUX input and it makes the amp function as a speaker if I connect a phone to it or something. If I connect my interface from interface's headphone jack (which has a thick head right so Ill need an adaptor) to the aux input (which has a small hole) rather than the normal guitar input on the amp, will the sound come out? Sorry for the many questions I just don't wanna end up buying the wrong stuff...
