Southern G Yes she was for seven years and sadly they divorced. But remained great friends. I loved their chemistry musically together.

I was a teenager when this came out. Luckily I was part of the generation that appreciated, respected and loved old skool jams...real music, real singers, real shit!!! Love it. These days no one truly knows how to do rendition of a timeless classic😍😘

Something I didn't notice 2 years ago when I heard this track first time.... The instrumental backing is a mashup of "Footsteps In The Dark" and "Tell Me If You Still Care" by the S.O.S. Band. Wow.

@@miriamhobbs1544 I didn't here the 2nd song ("Tell Me If You Still Care") until some time last year, and it hit my soul. Such a classic I hadn't heard since I was at least 3 or 4 years old. And of course, "Footsteps In The Dark" is a staple for anyone's chill playlist. 😁

Yeah, she sounds just like Chaka, of course that's not possible but she was nicely influenced by her. Maybe that could have been a bad thing though, cuz she doesn't seem to have her own voice. She sounds just like Chaka.

I always knew there was a female version. No one I know ever seemed to remember it..I knew I wasnt crazy. For years I thought it was just one girl, maybe Angela Winbush..but I never found it in her catalog.

This song right here when I 1st heard it body young ladies back in the day I thought it was the best that ever did it after Ron Isley. I haven't heard anyone remake it any better body I always love this group since when this came out between late eighties early nineties I still have the tape cassette but I love you guys and you'll have been the best that ever made footsteps in the dark🎶🎶🎶🎤🎤🎤❤🔥💯
