The Narcissist's body language: "Haughty". The narcissist adopts a physical posture which implies and exudes an air of superiority, seniority, hidden powers, mysteriousness, amused indifference, etc. Though the narcissist usually maintains sustained and piercing eye contact, he often refrains from physical proximity (he maintains his personal territory).
The psychopath is likely to be expansive (dominate and invade other people's personal territory), swaggering, and vaguely menacing. His manifest equanimity is bound to be mixed with an underlying streak of agitation, violent impatience, and hypervigilance. The general impression is of a wound time bomb, about to explode.

My ex husband’s facial expressions for joy looked like he felt pure disgust. I noticed this a lot towards the end.

I have thought that the stare of the narcissist is like an encroachment of boundaries. Would you agree? It is like the reaching out and into the person they stare at in order to gain the attention from the other they so deeply need and crave.

The N I know has the piercing eye contact which I've learned to stare right back at him until he becomes flustered. His body language is of someone with absolutely no self-confidence because he walks with his chest is sunken in and his gait is distinctive, but non-threatening. I've lost my N in a crowd of people many times because he really doesn't stick out.

Mr. Vankin, I recently watched Dr.Drew on his show use the term" malignant self love" as a description of narcissistic thinking. Your catching on!

I have a question, You say a Narcissist has his "space" and this is one thing I noticed about my narc/husband, he is the opposite, he invades everyone's space, gets right on top of them and I often thought how uncomfortable it made me

@truthtofind i am wondering the same thing...it just feels to me that the two of them could be very instrumental somehow, in getting the other to acknowledge their own pathologies.

it´s kind of hard to distinguish a narcissist from a self confident person by body language....or is there a difference?
@georgesimpson1406
@georgesimpson1406 6 жыл бұрын
Tally403 yeh, confidence is without tenseness. Narcissists are often in fight or flight mode. In a verbal argument people will be afraid they are about to start a fight even if they are non violent due to body language. Confident people are calm. Narcissists are on the edge. A display of defensive 'puffing up'.
