The Body-Solid Lat Pulldown Machine- GLM83 is a machine I have had over 7 years now. It's a very versatile machine that not only can you do lat pulldowns and low rows, but you can do bicep curls, tricep pushdowns, face pulls and many others. If you have low ceilings, the Body-Solid Pro Lat Machine is going to be perfect coming in at 82 inches for the height. Combine that with Body-Solid's amazing lifetime warranty and you can't go wrong.

@@GoreckiFit It's funny, I did the same thing with the pulleys when I put my Valor cable tower together 🤬😆😆 Those pulley systems can be a real pain, especially without instructions. When I took my Levergym apart, it's pulley system gave me some trouble when I was putting it back together.

@@TheCarterHomeGym yeah those pulleys definitely can be a pain, life fitness had great instructions so the only issue I had was fishing that cable through the hole and the stupid snap rings that hold the guide rods in gave me a lot of trouble. Had to buy snap ring pliers and even after that, I had trouble getting that ring over the groove because it wouldn’t stay open.

At 7 years, it passes the durability test.

Sure does, great piece once it’s put together 😂 just that initial let down when you realize you screwed up and have to remove 7 pulleys. You’d think after 7 years I’d be over it by now 😆

They have multiple seated calf raise machines. One is the best I’ve ever used. Their main line is considered “light commercial”/ small hotel use. I have a multi-gym from them(one of the lower tier ones). It’s great, as well as the pec fly. I would not recommend for a fully commercial and high traffic area.

I have one of their seated calf machines and it works great. Only complaint is the 1” plate sleeves for the weights.

The cheaper price units that are quoted as commercial rated are” light commercial” products that are found at gym studios and hotel gyms. I have that lat pulldown model since 2016 and it still works well.

I actually upgraded mine for my Prime Fitness Single Stack but this Lat pulldown was given to a new home and it still worked great. Still own the seated calf raise machine and that piece will stay since it’s just as good as some of the commercial ones.

Thanks for the review, i just want to ask about how much the smoothness of this machine compared to the cables machines in the commercial gyms?
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit 8 ай бұрын
This one isn’t as smooth since it runs on a plastic type insert that sits over the post that the trolley rides on compared to guide rails that most commercial machines use. Still decent for the price though.

Great review! I have been considering this machine but think I'll have to pass due to the non-adjustable seat. I am 6'3" so I don't think it will give me the range of motion I need. It's proving pretty difficult to find budget options for my height!
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit 5 ай бұрын
Yeah, unfortunately there aren’t many budget options for taller people. I see some people sit on the floor but then you can’t lock your legs down. Hopefully you find a good option.

I bought this machine and am putting it together now. The issue I am having is that the weight sled does not move up and down easily at all. It takes strength to move it up or down with no weight. It is too tight . I called the company service dept but they have nobody to help me. Any advice?
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit 6 ай бұрын
The weight sled is too tight? Make sure the plastic inserts are in correctly, this trolley should have hardly any weight at all when not loaded. You could take the plastic insert and slide it up and down the frame without the trolley and see if it’s smooth. Maybe they gave you the incorrect size. You also could have overtightened the pulleys too!! Double check the pulleys are smooth, make sure the cable isn’t off the pulley and maybe jammed to the side of it and not on it.
@mattismac
@mattismac 6 ай бұрын
Thank you for the advice, I will try these thing tomorrow when home. The pulleys are not installed yet. Its just real tight so I did not move to any more assembly steps. , I can only move it up or down with about 30-50lbs of force. @@GoreckiFit

Hey brother! At 3:59 you talk about adjusting the pulley..what would that do exactly? I use the top pull for cable crunches sometimes so it would probably shorten the amount of cable I can use right?
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit Жыл бұрын
It’s just for adjusting the slack on the cable. Shouldn’t affect the ability to do cable crunches because your only adjusting it a small amount.
@mikecoppaway4691
@mikecoppaway4691 Жыл бұрын
@@GoreckiFit I'm so sorry that is a dumb question but what would adjusting the slack do?? Like would it be something I would notice if I didn't do it?
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit Жыл бұрын
@@mikecoppaway4691 in my case, the cable would tangle on me if I had too much slack. The other problem is, if I had it too tight the low row would be uncomfortable to use because I wouldn’t have enough room to grab the handle attachment before I started pulling the trolley up w the weight. So it’s really personal preference, as long as your cable doesn’t tangle, you should be fine.

is it possible to do seated bench, dips, and overhead press on this machine?
@GoreckiFit

Using it like a utility bench for seated overhead press definitely, bench dips… maybe, depends how much weight and if this is up against a wall so it won’t move on you.

@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit 6 ай бұрын
I searched high and low when doing this video to find a max capacity and couldn’t find one anywhere. I’ve had 170lbs on this but I’d imagine it can handle 200-300 lbs without a problem.
@user-ug9qd3df1d
@user-ug9qd3df1d 6 ай бұрын
300lbs!!? It is more than enough, most pull downs in gyms only have 200 lbs. Thank you very much, I was looking for this information to be able to purchase one
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit 6 ай бұрын
@@user-ug9qd3df1d well I can’t be 100% sure because I never pulled that, but at 170lbs for reps, it was nice and smooth. 200lbs should be very doable, 300lbs I’m guessing would be close to maxing it out. This doesn’t use guide rods but a single post design that the trolley rides on. So as long as the pulley and bolt can handle the weight, it should be fine. Again, can’t 100% be sure since they have no max weight capacity listed anywhere even on their site.
