Reminds me of a heavy little shorey I was at today. A local secret spot. I love waves like this, that barrel even on the smallest of days.....(though it seems that The Wedge often gets the odd set out of nowhere with a little more size on it, too)

Ahhh...'tis Newport Beach, I see... I would love to surf that place. I am very fortunate right now to have a right solid shorebreak nearby, that is both consistent and proper heavy, while being relatively unknown, as such. But places like Newport Wedge, and Keiki Shorebreak, in Oahu, are the premiere shorebreak waves on earth. Charge on lads...(!)

If you ever come to hawaii u should go to Sandys beach park we get some massive waves and every wave is a perfect close out barrel.

the best thing about shore breaks is when you line up your wave in the midst of 15 people, clear a lane, and a skim boarder ribs you. I love/hate the wedge.

It is in Newport Beach in Southern California. About an hour and half and a world away from Los Angeles. I used to live on the peninsula and have seen the wedge so big it was completely covering the end of the jetty.

If you ever get the chance to you should come to east matunck state beach in Rhode Island during a storm that is not too far away or a rip tide. I’ve rode some pretty huge ones and snapped my board a few times there as well
