Killed a Firefighter, unreal, even after that firefighter just saved his pathetic life

So sad, he killed the paramedic who saved his life. He is the lowest form of life.

The fact that they have to render aid to someone who just murdered a person who literally saved his life is disgusting

So he didn't want to get caught up with the gun and a warrant. But he didn't mind getting caught up murdering someone.

A man busted his ass to be a firefighter and provide for a family only to be killed by a useless junkie. Smh.

I was an EMT. My fellow classmates couldn't understand why I needed to know what our legal rights are so far as defending ourselves from a patient or otherwise potentially crazy situation. He should have watched this video.

Rest In Peace Mitch Lundgaard _Mitch was a 14-year veteran of the Appleton Fire Department when he tragically lost his life in the line of duty. It started as a routine medical call at the city’s transit center, when a man who had been revived after a drug overdose opened fire on police officers and firefighters who had just saved his life. Mitch died of a gunshot wound to the chest._ _While Mitch had a passion for serving and helping those in need, his family was the most important thing in his life, and it was obvious to everyone who knew him. He was a loving son and brother. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Lindsey, for 12 years. His love for Lindsey was demonstrated daily, and they were best friends. He was a devoted and amazing father to his three sons, Evan, Logan, and Ryan, who were nine, seven, and four at the time of his death. He loved spending time with his boys. On his days off, he was home with the boys and loved having that time with them when they were young. As they got older, he enjoyed coaching and watching his boys play in their many sports. He loved taking his family to Disney World every year, and we think he even had more fun than the boys!_ _Being in good shape was important to Mitch. He spent a lot of time running and exercising. Right before he went on his last call, he convinced the guys at the station to try to do 100 Man-Makers (Cross Fit exercise). They had completed 50 when the call came in. They are now referred to as “Mitch-Makers” within the department and with many people in the Appleton area._ _In his free time, he loved to golf and watch Packer or Brewer games. Sunday afternoons at Lambeau Field was one of his favorite places to be! Go Pack Go!_ _During his career, Mitch spent eight years as a firefighter/inspector before returning to the line in January 2019 as a relief driver. He completed several trainings at the National Fire Academy for fire investigation and was a Certified Fire Investigation (CFI) Technician with the International Association of Arson Investigators. He was an active member of the Wisconsin Search and Rescue Task Force. Mitch held an associate degree in fire protection and was two classes away from earning a bachelor’s degree in fire and emergency response management from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Mitch was strong and confident in his career and built many great friendships and bonds with his AFD brothers. He was posthumously promoted to driver/engineer._ _Mitch is missed every single day by his family, the fire department, and his friends. His legacy will live on forever within the community of Appleton_

My one and only son is a fireman. His father was killed in a horrific motorcycle accident three days before his first day. The only day that he took off was the day of his father's funeral the following Saturday. The very next day he returned back to work. I asked him if he was sure that he didn't need time off. He said mama I am returning to work because I want to save lives😢 Heartfelt condolences to the family of the hero who saved the life of a coward to only lose his in return. Thank you for your services. May you rest in eternal peace.

What an evil reaction form a creature of true darkness, it’s devastating that a innocent rescuer, helping and serving others, lost his life in the midst of this created chaos. This is truly devastating, and unbearable to witness.

An honorable mention goes to the family of the shooter. They put out a statement acknowledging that the officers made the correct decision in shooting him after they saw the body cam footage. It is refreshing to see a family mourn the loss of a loved one and also have the courage and character to stand by law enforcement through their pain

And people wonder why cops are always on high alert...

The restraint these cops show after all of that and that waste of oxygen still being a threat is incredible. These are some of the most compassionate cops I’ve seen. It’s crazy to think on the other spectrum are some terrible cops when these guys exist.

My nephew is an EMT, and he was on this call. Luckily, he was getting things out of the truck and didn’t get on the bus. Such a rotten man to want to kill someone trying to save your A$$.

He was too nice. I wouldn't let this guy go fumbling around in his pockets like that. Especially after being hit with narcan. Officers and EMS should always be on heightened awareness in these situations. They were way too nonchalant and it cost them a life. What a shame...

WHAT makes a guy draw his gun in that situation? I will never understand why he would do something like that. What, just because he had a gun on him and didnt have a license? How many years is that in prison? Vs shooting at police officers and killing the firefighter who did nothing but save your fking life. This is so unbelievably stupid I cant even comprehend it.

That escalated out of nowhere. To lose a firefighter (or any responder!) is a tragic loss. To lose him from a gunshot from someone who’s life was just saved by his actions is heartbreaking. Damn.

As a healthcare specialist when someone refuses treatment/care after numerous attempts I have them sign an AMA & let them know exactly what it is. Usually it works but sometimes it doesn't! RIP to this First Responder for simply doing his job, trying to save a life🙏🏾🕊!

And this is why when I worked in Fire/EMS in the 80's/90's we would put soft restraints on all patients before using Narcan on them! Many times, they were hypes and would get pissed because you ruined their high, but it would have quite likely prevented this tragedy!

Was shown this when it first happened, back when I was in EMT school and had to watch it again now in my medic program. Absolutely heartbreaking every time, none of this had to happen.

The shooter should never have been out of jail as he was a felon. He changed his name while in prison in 2011 and when he was arrested again the new name didn’t show a criminal history so they set 500 dollar bond.

Late mention but I worked a couple blocks away from this. There was a massive tribute parade for mitch with at least a thousand people lining the sidewalks. He was honored immeasurably for the sacrifice he made

This animal was out on a $500 bail when he did this. He changed his name & the court failed to check properly into his criminal history, so he got let out for $500 🤦‍♂️ It’s a real shame he pulled through his injuries here.
