We had to play an awful Minecraft knockoff in my Japanese class last semester as a legitimate assignment. We were supposed to build historical Japanese buildings. It was playable, but not fun. That teacher had the worst assignments. The only reason the school keeps him is so they can boast that they have a Japanese class.

I remember when I was young I would look for free Minecraft games and on almost all of them had a multiplayer and in that multiplayer you are guaranteed to find someone looking for a bf or a gf and it was just if a drug den was a game

There are two clones that hold a special place in my heart: Worldcraft and Block Story. I used to farm for enemy drops by harvesting and placing npc and enemy spawners. They would fight for some reason. Such awesome memories.

I remember two knockoff Minecraft games I remember playing on my Kindle Fire. Survival Craft and this weirdly realistic, D&D-like, block game. Survival Craft had a free version and it had realistic mobs like wolves, bears, etc. You could only play one day in the free one, but I just made new worlds. The other game was really weird. The sounds, textures, mobs, and water were realistic and off-putting. Even the music was strange. Both were interesting and got me into the real Minecraft and modding.

Its crazy seeing these horrible games when you've designed games. Like something about all of these games makes me see RIGHT through them and i feel like im looking at a Unity prototype rather than a game. Idk if its the lack of immersion but the one at 5:00 is so uncanny. It looks okay but i can see that it looks like all the crappy games 8ve made, just with minecraft-ish textures and models. Take away all the blocks and walk on a flat white texture and it'd feel the same. There's something about the stock unity or stock unreal engine feel that all these games have that makes it feel so weird to see

I remember on my old iPad, we had a ripoff called Block Craft 3D. The objective of the game was to build stuff and you only had a limited number of blocks. You had to spend gems to get more blocks.

when I am bored and have no wifi and not much storage, I sometimes play this offline copy of minecraft wich is actually fun. You have different blocks and you have to actual survival, but you also have different things that minecraft doesnt have like using a magic spell and have pets (you can ride on all of them, even the chicken), you can use the pets in all worlds. Sadly you can't change the skin, so you'll always be a weird version of steve, but the game is called: Exploration Lite Craft
