In the past I've taken lowly econobudget slip joints and: adjusted the joint; then put them in the vise and 'dressed' the jaw tips with a file till they'll grab/pull most anything off a flat surface. With some of them also touched up the cutters. It only takes a few minutes & can often (but not always) transform even the crudest 'Dollar Store' specials into somewhat useful pliers.

I miss Sears Craftsman. Heck, I miss Sears. With these pliers, why did they put the nicer looking dome top of the bolt on the bottom? Just curious.

Looks like they have a typical HF manufacturing defect. Twix candy bars are made to tighter specs. Tractor tool box: slip joint pliers, vice grips, crescent wrench, flat blade screwdriver, hammer (if room).

Mr Maximus, Did you edit this video using these bog standard pliers?🤔 I ask this question because your trademarked "Catus Maximus here®" got left on the cutting room floor. 😹
