Caribbean food is the best! My mom would do boil and fry yam without the salt fish and she'd serve it with either curried duck or stewed chicken. It was the greatest 🤤🤤🤤

I've never tried this dish with yam, we would normally cook up a cassava salt fish dish but I know anything you cook is good so will try this also. Thanks Chris

Are yams sweet? Or more like turnips or Idaho potato? I know you said can use them but cooking times are different. Sweet potato takes longer or shorter?

Never asked, are real yams sweet at all? We have yam and sweet potato but both are orange and the one they call yam is starches and less sweet than a sweet potato

Two different unrelated plants. Yams are native to Africa, sweet potatoes to South America. Only US Americans call sweet potatoes yams
