Boise Winter Camping | Overlanding Idaho

Will and Chris set out Overlanding with a major winter storm in the forecast. They wind up running from the storm to seek lower elevation. They cross from the Boise mountains to the Snake River canyon in search of a place to weather the storm. However, things did not turn out how they imagined.

I need to go out in winter with you man...you can show me the proper way to shiver aroudn the fire! The solitude is amazing though. No birds, no bugs, no people...I see why you like it!

Ditto, we've had a great first winter season being out, its so much more peaceful. I am ready for spring now though lol

@@Venture2Roam I wouldn't say that I'm anti-social per-se, but I just love the quiet and peace of being out in winter. Also, no bugs is a big plus.

Great video! The views looked incredible! We recently bought a propane heater for our tent & absolutely LOVE winter camping now. You can't beat the snowy views and less traffic is a huge plus.

Nice! What a masterpiece of a video! you actually had me laughing out loud, and for some reason the boys wanted to keep watching you get hit in the face with a pistachio over and over again...strong work!

Hahahaha!!! True story- I just found out that Chris had no intention of throwing that pistachio in my mouth. I’m lucky he didn’t hit me in the eye!

Thank you so much! I lost like 50% of the footage on this trip to a hard drive crash...so it's really nice to hear you liked the shots! The new drone is great..even in super windy conditions it held up great. I've been having a lot of fun trying to get better at it.

@@Venture2Roam you could always do the Pelican case diesel heater. A little cumbersome, but a 70 degree tent in the snow is pretty nice!

does the snow make most trails inaccessible during winter?

In higher elevations yes..which is one reason we wanted to get lower before the storm hit..in the Valley the snow doesn’t usually last long unless there is an inversion.
