Boker did what to the Kalashnikov!? Comparison of standard vs BladeHQ XXL and new Dessert Warrior

This is the year of the Kalashnikov. BladeHQ blew everyone away with the extremely limited Dessert Warrior, and Boker decided to Cold Steel the Kalashnikov again and made it HUGE with a 4.5 inch blade. It has to be one of the biggest switchblades you can buy. Anyway this video has the XXL, the standard, not the Karambit, but the Dessert Warrior ABSOLUTELY destroy diaper boxes and part of a pineapple. This ULTIMATE hard use field test not only illustrates my command of SEO, but compares the Bokers to some of my other automatic knives like a Ganzo, 2 Protechs (the don, and Brend), and some Hawks. The Cold Steel Colossus and the Spyderco K2 make guests appearances too. You can buy these at the links below via blade HQ, and it helps to support the channel.

"Blade HQ asked me if I wanted one fully aware of the things I do around here, and I said yes." I like your honesty about how what you do is somewhat silly. But your testing is just rough enough to see if the knives have any weakness in construction and is brutal when it comes to edge retention since slicing cardboard is like the fastest way to make a blade go dull without trying to cut rocks. Plus your ability to spin a yarn and put it into plain spoken language with humor throughout is wonderful.

Thank you for the link to the interview, I watched it when I was hand stitching embroided leather stamped with the negatives of selected smashed pennies. Ever anyone wasting their time this way? :P If I was less serious person I'd be screaming when I heard we share the same year of birth but that would be infantile and remind me that it's not only the other folks that are getting older. Dammit. Anyways, at least I learned one reson (beside the humor) why I like your videos, manual focus. No Blair Witch style, I very much enjoy that. Looking forward seeing more from you featuring things I don't really need, and if so then for tinkering. I just prepared the tartan micarta for a Boker Urban Trapper, who know when it will be finished...

I have the original BladeHQ standard sized Desert Warrior, which I'll refer to as 'Lil Dezzy", which was a steal of a deal for the fun packaging. My largest auto is a Protech [Custom] Brend 1 from a 2006 'First Production' run, eventually I'll ascend to collector heaven when I buy a garish Microtech Halo V, epileptic frame anodization/meteor monosteel blade/woolly mammoth ivory [side inserts] scales. With the Halo [V] I'll finally be a proper knife collector, or so I was told a decade ago that the Halo V was people's first 'Holy Grail' and 'Safe Queen', etc... If I add that to my existing stack I spent $4000 on and then feel empty, I'll know all that time it wasn't the Halo, but instead a different make and/or model of knife that now _and then_ continues alluding my collection.

Oh boy! Do you still have that Viper??
@Player_Review
@Player_Review 4 ай бұрын
tl;dr: Yes, all 9.2 ounces of it. I'm not a knife tradesman, so I still have pretty much every knife I've ever bought, including the Viper Rhino you did the lovely video on that elicited their email lovingly explaining their carbon fibre process and designer material. That was kind of neat to see how they knew and cared about their image from the Joe Consumers like myself that were into your style of content with just the right depth of knowledge where it was geeky, but in only all the right ways. That they could take a jab from an honest take and some giggles, yet be all Italian professional about 'business'. They had won top prize at Bladeshow or somesuch a year or so prior, and that crowd is also your crowd. I'm giving the Kershaw Emerson to a friend that for whatever reason that is the right knife for him. Will be fun to see if he's able to pull-deploy it. I sold a Para2 unused to a good colleague that couldn't afford a nice knife, just gave it to him, was okay if I never got a dime and his nature had much pride he'd repay or commit seppuku, $20 a paycheck and he eventually I had milked him of $100 (gave him a $9 discount)... I bring this up for one reason, to demonstrate what a good person I am, but also that it was the only time I sold a knife-I had two of them because the blurple and the transparent came out and ofc I had to get one. Gave nearly a dozen as random gifts to colleagues for free, though some of these were me purging my collection of Ganzo's and the like-I did give one of my rotation EDC's to my brother, the Benchmade Griptilian G10 First Production run. I don't even work at Benchmade, making me a very nice brother. @@AdvancedKnifeBro

@AdvancedKnifeBro
@AdvancedKnifeBro 2 жыл бұрын
The standard measurement of the cutting edge is as the crow flies, and that’s how most people measure it. I’ve been reviewing knives for 7 years now, and this is literally the first time someone has asked me to do it this way. I will not start measuring it this way, and if it’s that important to you- then you have the ability to have your own KZfaq channel.

PS I need to google what "as the crow flies" means to be sure now. PPS Aah, a straight line. Silly me! xD PPPS I was wondering because of how serradet blades work, they make the cutting lenght effectively longer while maintaining a shorter overall length. That's all, and thanks again! "Auto's and OTF's" would be a great series. Unique because they are viewed as "bad ass;" even though they have little practical use and are delicate. If anything were to be stabbed then the blade closed, it becomes expensive trash. Knowing this, I still like them for the novelty. I have long retired the comb versions and opted for the disposable camera of the knife world in it's truest form. I love these videos. Thank you.
