Indeed. Interesting thing is that many peasants and workers left Red Army due to obvious reasons but when Whites took Orel and got very close to Moscow, they came back. That's because they saw Soviets as less harsh evil. They took a lot of land during revolutions and didn't want to give it back. Many Whites, unofrtunately, were too nostalgic towards Russian Empire and couldn't accept the fact that there was a need to change. Also before the Revolution there was a need for reforms, but Revolution ultimately prevailed in it. Regardless of White or Red regime, it had to fulfill the demands of masses if it wanted to be accepted. No one wanted the situation to be just as in 1914. I think that Vanya described in this song probably wasn't an enthusiast of Lenin, but he earned some land after Revolution and hoped that Soviets would help him to keep it, because Denikin or Kolchak surely wouldn't. But I doubt it happened....
