Eric explains to everyone how Rick’s manipulative behavior has caused him to rethink his decision to promote him. Eric decision for Stephanie and Rick to work together or get fired surprises everyone. Donna tells Eric she is surprised that he stood up to Stephanie, and he says it is because he is tired of Stephanie’s negativity. Steffy tells Marcus she does not want to hurt, and Marcus asks if she has met someone else. He cannot get a truthful answer but tells Steffy that he will always love her. Steffy and Rick meet each other at Big Bear, and Steffy tells him that Marcus proposed to her. Rick tells Steffy not to marry Marcus because he loves her. Rick and Steffy finaly begin to give in to their feelings for one another. Ridge tells Brooke and Stephanie that he does not want to play referee with them and Rick because he is too hurt from Phoebe’s death. Brooke apologizes to Ridge for fighting with Stephanie in front of him. When they are alone in Ridge’s office, Stephanie and Brooke exchange threats with one another.
