Brooke is worried they have provoked Deacon into taking action against them. Deacon contacts Bridget, believing he may have found a way to retaliate against the Forresters. Bridget invites Deacon to her surprise birthday party. Rick can’t believe Amber allowed little Eric to call Deacon “Daddy.”

It's telling that Rick's family goes over to warn Deacon to stay away from Amber, not Rick himself. JT just isn't a strong actor and doesn't have much screen presence and the character of Rick is a twerp. So instead the show is setting up a Deacon vs Eric dynamic which at least involves two solid actors and will lead to the storyline involving Bridget. And you can see why just in this episode: the confrontation between Deacon and Eric was more explosive than any scene with Deacon and Rick.

Absolutely! I've mentioned it before but I think Jacob Young would have handled this material much more effectively. I can picture a fiery confrontation between JY's Rick and Deacon. In comparison, Sean Kanan would grind JT into dust.

Kyle Lowder would have also been a better adversary for Deacon. It just doesn't feel man to man with Justin Torkildsen.

@@staceygash9421 it's true. Kyle Lowder knows how to dial up the intensity. What I like about JY is that he can be both intense and charismatic, which makes him a good match for SK. It's something I missed with Kyle's performance. It was all intensity all the time.

@leviaj1 That's a true point! I feel like Deacon needs the match of intensity because that is his characters strongest trait(defense mechanism). He came on the show with it. Kyle is more intense. The rest of the men on the show don't have that. They at least let Eric have some intensity and alpha male traits for this scene. Either Kyle Lowder or JY would have been a formidable match for SK.

Rick was the one who found Deacon, and screwed up everything for Amber and her son, ruining her marriage with C.J....Who was way better than him....and now he's blaming Amber ?? After kissing Amanda, he acted the same way when he saw Amber kissing Deacon....Oh boy ! If I was Amber, I would have pick Deacon with no hésitation at all....🙄😁😁

Wow, Rick is getting on my nerves so much! Wants to play the great father and behaves like a toddler. "Oh I'm his daddy, I'm here - what? My son calls Deacon daddy??? But I was there when he was a baby!" Boy!!!!! It's NOT YOR SON! You really didn't understand anything and it immediately shows that you did NOT mean all of this for Eric Jr. but only for you and because you're a damn Forrester who thinks he can buy anything.

This exactly! Little Eric has a father and it's _not Rick._ It hasn't been Rick since after Venice. That's further back than this kid can even remember.

@@annieo6527 But even after Becky had her son back, Rick kept pushing for a father role and kept visiting little Eric. We had Rick and CJ not just competing for Amber, but competing to be little Eric's dad. The little boy has to be confused with all that father figures. But now it seems as if the boy really has bonded with his bio dad Deacon and Deacon is the one referred to as "daddy", regardless of all the fighting and -failed- agreements.

Why do the Forresters act as if Deacon has to work out visitation with _them?_ Isn't Amber the one he signed over his parental rights to? The Forresters have no say at all as to when and how Deacon sees his son.

It was heartless that she left CJ at the altar for this sneaky, spoiled ferret. Especially after what CJ had been through before. And Eric Jr. is now just as much of a wimp as his father, who can't get anything done without the help of others. Amber just wanted financial security - from the start.

I like how the writing team has given Amber a little bit of sense. She was clueless for a minute. Deacon didn't deserve this. Would have loved seeing Eric get punched.

Right about what? THEY (Ric specifically) came looking for HIM. RIC was the one who felt so entitled to Becky’s son he was willing to bribe deacon for custody. Deacon wouldn’t have even known Eric if Ric didn’t just let cj and Amber raise him.

Did they change the agreement repeatedly or what did Deacon think he was getting paid for? 😅 Wasn't the deal for Deacon to relinquish his paternal rights for good (but the visitation deal would have kept him in the boy's life)? Deacon in that episode even brings up the possibility to use that money to get a better attorney and to get his son back permanently.

How all you people can be so not in touch with what's going on. The only person who is right about this situation is Brooke who tried to protect her son. She didn't go about it the right way of course but she will change. Now begins her misery with her daughter but the totally failed marriage of son and the pain he will go through not forgetting her pain with Bridget will spark the relationship and her filings for Ridge not now but very soon.
