They only date people already in the family somehow apparently lol, whether by marriage, related to someone in the family, a step this or that, an ex this or that, etc. It's really weird, no other soaps I watch do that. Practically everybody has had everybody somehow lol.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but Stephanie did not help Taylor first go around. She basically begged Ridge to go back to Brooke the same day he left to find Taylor in the Virgin Islands. She didn’t even know where he was going. She told Taylor on multiple occasions that she didn’t have a chance against Brooke. And still begged him to reconsider after he told the family they were engaged. She told Felicia that she was reluctant to host an engagement party because she didn’t think Ridge would go through with the wedding. She was sure that he would go back to Brooke. At the party she made a point of telling Brooke to pull herself together and stop drinking because Ridge loved strength in his women. And at the wedding she snapped at Brooke because she was too late to stop it. It was only after Ridge and Taylor were legally married that she slowly started to come around. Ridge may have been an idiot (IMO), but homeboy did have a mind of his own. I will give you that he seemed easily swayed by whatever woman that was in front of him, but that goes back to Caroline vs Brooke days.

Ridge is more aware of he's decisions than anybody gives him credit for. He's trying to be happy and he was many times in love with Brooke but he never had an adult relationship with her based on trust and respect for one another . he wanted to regain what he lost when Taylor supposingly died; a true partnership. So when he was deeply hurt he run to her , cause he remembered how it was to be her husband. And after a while he's feelings followed . he fall in love with her again deeper than ever . The thing is he never respect Brooke , he cared for her but there was only passion ... They both played one another with zero boundries. love needs to contain respect .
