I am successful by many others accounts and thought I had it all together. Except my marriage sucked. This book changed EVERYTHING FOR ME. I’m only a few days out from finishing the book and getting a copy for my wife and brothers. I am including them in this journey. When I give my wife the book I am also giving her a card with my boundaries on them. Let’s see how this goes. I am looking forward to a more fulfilling life and marriage. One with no secrets and pure real ness. I am no longer a nice guy but a real good man.

A lot of good material here and I bought his book as a result. Now- was anyone besides me struck by his comment that one should just live the NMMNG life without talking about it to your wife/GF "because they aren't interested"? I think he is absolutely right-- but think about that for a minute.. You are guaranteed to get a minute-by-minute commentary on every random thought SHE is thinking, and she'll bitch that you "don't open up to her", but if you do, she's not interested? Hmmm. It almost seems like the ladies don't know what they want...

I love his authenticity! It's the way he hones his power as a man. He's very loving and kind, but also really powerful/strong as a man. As a female, hearing him talk, I feel very safe, and like I could approach him vulnerably without fear of being assaulted emotionally for my vulnerability as a female. And what he says is so true too! There is nothing more safe to my own soul than a man that is unapologetically man, in not harsh or hard ways. It makes me feel so safe. NOTE THIS: At approx. the 13 min. mark he asks: "How many of us here hate women?" then states not a single hand went up. Yesterday I did a search for Red Pill, and most of the articles attacked it as "radicalizing men", "misogynistic", and how hateful the members/commenters were. That is exactly the problem; I don't hate women- far from it. But I do hate feminism for its smug condescension that merely to question their claims is to be aberrant. Guys need to call "B.S." on this and not be afraid of the outrage that will surely follow.

We are also heavily wired for sexual jealousy over our partners, and the asymmetry between the sexes of the root of that jealousy shows us how our behavior was directed in our ancestral past. His theory we shared mates in the manner he described is highly implausible. Our shame around sex is wired to make us engage in sexual activity in private in an effort to hide this valuable resource which is unwise to advertise to competitors. David Buss, who he mentions, states we are and most likely were serial pair-bonders. I'd recommend David Buss' interview with Lex Fridman. Also he really never mentions anything to the effect of being bold post MeToo, which is an interesting conundrum of how to act on correct impulses which may be rejected, or worse, may be interpreted as harassment to bad faith actors who have been brainwashed by victimhood ideology.

Humans are complex. There have been many different mating strategies across the ages and the economy of mating has changed as the societies changed. My understanding is that there were many different mating strategies just within the various Native American tribes depending on if they were agrarian or hunter gatherer and if they were matriarchal or patriarchal. I believe that our days of pair bonding may be coming to an end and the future of human mating in the modern economy is going to be more tournament mating based. For a more complete discussion I suggest the book Sex At Dawn.

@Dunston - Sorry I don't mean to be dismissive but you just described tournament mating strategy. In tournament mating it is just as you say, a select few males have sexual access and a large number of males have no sexual access. That is the direction we are headed yes. If you want to understand the overall concepts I suggest the book Sex At Dawn.

@Dunston “We are not a classic pair-bonded species. We are not a polygamous, tournament species either…. What we are, officially, … is a tragically confused species.” (Robert Sapolsky) It's not a perfect analogy. I believe a pure tournament mating style would be like wild horses or bulls or lions. Under those mating schemes the alpha can only maintain his hegemony for a few years at best. Humans cannot maintain a pure tournament style at all. That would require extreme mate guarding because a male cannot tell when a female is fertile. However because of society's lowered standards of chastity for women in modern times we have moved in the direction of a more tournament like mating scheme. Keep in mind that the sexual market forces are directly affected by actual market forces. The sexual economy and the regular economy are interdependent.
