I'm from Africa & I love Indian movies soo much, I just find them soo beautiful their culture, their films, their people. However, I really recommend you guys to do background research before proceeding to watch the songs. Therefore their songs can make sense for you guys as to why they're acting like that or what lead them to that song. This movie is one of the biggest hits and it's very popular because the overall meaning is about loving your parents and what family really means, it's quite beautiful. Yes the festival is called Karwa chauth. Wives fast from sunrise to moonrise, abstaining from food and drink, to ensure long life and protection for their husbands. My mother always kept this fast for my dad even though he was Dutch and not a Hindu. He appreciated the gesture as it's made with love and devotion. I also keep this fast every year even though my husband isn't Hindu. In Hinduism a woman's prayers are very powerful especially when it comes to casting protection over their loved one's. Inside every woman there exists Shakti which is feminine divinity and pure power.

I cried so hard when I watched the movie.. I’m not Indian I’m ethiopian but I grew up with Bollywood movies and songs. The old movies are better tho. The actresses and actors kept their natural skin Color and didn’t have the need to adapt to white beauty standards I mean look at Kajol! I think she looks beautiful with her brown skin and hazel eyes😃

To be honest, this is the saddest Indian movie i ever watch. Oh btw, if you more interesting in history or kind of BEST film, you can watch Toilet and Padman. That was a great film i swear. I've seen a few videos with a reaction for this song and everyone always watches it without context. They completely miss how hard the ending of this song hits with him hugging his brother, and how throughout the film the mom senses her sons hence the reaction at the end.
