That little Mitsubishi 3cyl is pumping out 30+lb-ft of torque, plenty enough for jobs like that 👍. Hopefully picking up the exact same setup tomorrow so I can get my field back in order. I will post a video and let you know how it goes.

I have used my G174 17 hp extensively for bush hogging. Eventually I took out a head gasket by overheating it. My fault: I was mowing uphill in first gear high range, instead of 3rd low, where it would have been fine. This was heavy cutting under overhanging trees. Since then I have used slightly more powerful tractors for that job and used the Bolens primarily for working around my trees while towing a small hydraulic dump trailer. It is also the go-to tractor for the 7.5 km generator which is the backup power supply for the property. I have three suitcase weights which came with it. They are sixty or eighty pounds, made by Ford. I use all three on the 4' bush hog, but only one to counterbalance the trailer.

Three suitcase weights came with my Bolens. Initially I turned them down but then drove 4 hours to buy them.

I brought one of these last year with plan of building a front loader for it. It's the perfect size to get in the chicken barn. It's good to see it can handle a 4ft bush hog because I may use it to clear out some black berry thickets where I started an orchard last year that's a bit tight for the full sized tractor and bush hog.

The only concern I had was the weight distribution with that long implement in the back. It worked very well. The only limitation with lower HP is the speed of execution... Thanks!

Great video on Brushhog!! Quick question on another of your great videos!! SIMPLE IN FLOOR HEAT FOLLOWUP: Great video!! Did you find you did not need a back flow preventer and PRV.... how is system after 2 years of using. Did you make any changes? Thanks!!

Hi thanks. On the in-floor heat system I don't have a back flow prevention because it is a closed loop. I don't have domestic water connected in any way. It's been flawless so far and I haven't had any issues nor made any changes.
