Basically after the break up of Yugoslavia there was a horrific war between bosnia against republika srpska and what was left of Yugoslavia there was genocide done by the rebels and nato got involved after bombing by nato peace talks started and it was agreed that bosniq will be republika srpska majority serbian and bosnia mostly bosnian and the two republika srpska are the same

Slavic pronounciation aid - J - pronounced like Y [Not individually though] So, Sarajevo is pronounced as Sarayevo, Podrinje as Podrinye, Zenica-Doboj as Zenica-Doboj, etc. C - isn't pronounced like K, but it's pronounced like C in Czar. You pronounced Herzegovina ok, and Srpska is a word. Srpska means Serbian. And lastly, the c in Brcko [which is a diffirent c, btw] is spelt something like ch.

So to pronounce Bosnia and Herzegovina you just have to put all the letters together and say them all out. By the way, the reason Canton 10 has a 10 in it's name is probably because the regions of Bosnia (That is short so this entire time you could have just said Bosnia) are called Cantons so it's basically like the 10th Canton of Bosnia.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is kind of weird. Republika Srpska is not like the other subdivisions, its an “entity”, its meant to be a place for the interests of Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is why its all squiggly and separated, its not a province, but an entity of Bosnia meaning it has some more autonomy. Republika Srpska actually has an independence movement to become a new nation, it has failed so far.

bosnia and herzegovina is split into 3 regions, the republika srpska, the brcko district, and the federation of bosnia and herzegovina, which is the rest. i personally wouldve split the republika srpska into its subdivisions, which is more than just the 2 parts.
