@Sanjana I respect & agree with your comments. They do have their own share of struggle while choosing this profession. While some of them work with integrity & dignity respecting the celebrities like the main guy being interviewed in this video, others do anything & everything without thinking & maintaining any boundaries which are probably most of the papparazies & thats why the few who are genuine get a bad name. This guy doesn’t even get recognition for his work including from his own family & he’s still alright with that. And with the circumstances in the job market like you said, they choose this job which I think is still better than a corporate or retail 9-5.

i'm photographer too bro (instagram.com/thirdworldcitizen/ ) but its not easy making a living by being a photographer unless you shoot events, wedding, pre wedding etc which isnt much different from papparazi stuff. Only difference is you dont shoot celebrities but the effect is same. Incase you observed, this fancy and expensive weddings and pre wedding shoots is a recent trend that came after social media's rise mainly because couples want a celebrity style attention during weddings hence photographers shoot them like they are a celebrity for a day. They later upload these in social media for likes. Ultimately its to boost the other person's need for attention and self esteem. For landscapes or skies or any general topic as you said.. you wont get enough money from that unless you upload your works in shit tons of stock photography websites where you wait for months to get someone license your photograph. The best and the most decent way to make money from photography is photojournalism. War photography, covering disasters etc. In that way you are using your photos to send a message to the world. You wont know which photograph becomes iconic. Like Steve McCurry's "Afghan Girl" which was captured during the soviet invasion of Afghanisthan.
