Late actor Irrfan Khan's wife Sutapa Sikdar joins us for the fourth episode of Her Story only on Bollywood Bubble. In this emotionally heartwrenching chat, Sutapa discusses her tell-all on Irrfan. From how they met each other to how their love story blossomed into an inter-religion marriage, from having seen terribly financially low days to having two kids - she speaks about it all. But things take a different turn when Sutapa narrates Irrfan and the family's entire battle with cancer. i literally cried when she said that every night for a year or two she would read the medical files to see if there was something different that could have been done so that he could be saved. She loved him truly and sounds like he also loved her as much its really heartbreaking for the family. Irrfan was a wonderful actor, i saw him in life of pi, Jurassic world and so many countless movies. His personality was also brilliant saw his interview on the kapil show also his sense of humor was awesome such a wonderful person RIP

This is an interview which treads the path of grief with so much love and dignity. Having lost three family members to cancer within a span of few months, the journey of grief is completely relatable just like her love life as well.Saw Sutapa and Irrfan back in mid 90’s sometime in front of Jadavpur university looking for a cab. Unassuming and humble back then too.Sutapa’s raw yet mature emotion has been beautifully captured in the interview by Nayan thorough his empathy and intelligence.Keep up the good work Nayan, you are much better at your job than many who have much more experience and age on their side than you do.

Sometimes when an actor who you love dies, you don't want to watch their movies again because that may hurt you . But for irrfan, I kept revisiting his movies again and again, even the hidden gems like Qissa because that helps me to celebrate what an artist he was and death can never end art. He ll live forever and ll be relevant forever.

She spoke so simply and honestly from her soul... Not as some star wife.. But a woman who stood strong through her husband's last days and gave him the courage to get through each day. It's hard enough to watch the person you love - their life ebb away. The hardest part is from the day after in the months to come to go through the lonely, yoyo grieving process and accepting this life is over with them... Just the memories left. Time has a way of healing the heart.

I have never ever felt that strong emotion for any other celebrity's demise. Still I get tears when I watch him or listen about him. After him Soumitra chatterjee left us, which also hurt me a lot. We were lucky & blessed to be staying in the same block as Sikdars & have him visit our Saraswati puja whenever he was in Delhi. Sutapa, you did nothing WRONG! The truth is it's hard to beat cancer. Steve Jobs also had a neuro-endocrine tumor in his Pancreas. One can do everything right, but cancer has a way of coming back abruptly and very largely. Please honour your husband by living your best life. That's what he would want to see from wherever he is. I know how hard it was on you to care for him 24/7. I did the same with my mother for over 13 years. Only someone who has gone through it can understand the depth of the condition YOU were in and how it took a toll on you. But you do it because you love your loved one so much. I hope you can being to enjoy your life and take care of your own health from now on.

I always have mixed feelings when I watch Nayan’s interviews, coz his questions are very good but I hate that he sweet talks every celeb he meets. But this interview he hit it out of the park. Superb interview, perfect questions, Nayan knew exactly when to speak and interject and when to let Sutapa speak on. Irrfan Khan is my fav fav actor and I still can’t believe he is not in this world in his physical form. And hearing his lovely partner Sutapa gives me immense happiness. This was touching. My family has also been devastated by cancer. My father, two uncles, both grandfathers, cousins, cancer runs in my family. I have never even seen Sutapa ma’am speaking and my god she is extremely charming. I hope their son takes Irrfan sir’s legacy forward. Gone too soon. He was a powerhouse of raw talent.

This is one interview I loved. I am also going through a very tough period- lost my parents and my only brother. I am struggling to overcome the grief and come to terms with the situation. I too keep looking at their reports and wondering what went wrong. I sometimes feel, our scientists should do more research and help Doctors to cure patients and not just treat patients.

That's unbearable grief you are going through, may God bless you with strength to bear it. I lost my father to cancer a month back, and it's excruciating grief. The way he fought with cancer went through unimaginable trauma and finally lost it, it's heartbreaking.

When Iirfan passed away, I felt I lost someone from my family. I never felt that for any other celebrity who passed away though I felt sad. Hope he is in better place. 🙏
