About 10 years ago now, my city got the "City of Culture" award in the UK. As part of the events the city booked, they got the Marinski Ballet to visit and put on a show. Anyways, my girls were at Ballet class in the city, and the teacher there was oldschool and one of the best in the country, who had trained kids in the past who ended up in Russian Ballet schools. One night when I picked up my kids, she asked me "Are you buying a ticket for the show?" see, as a parent, I'd get a discount. But I told her, I couldn't afford it, and besides - they were gonna release a DVD for £15 and, as my oldest girl was dancing with her friends ALONGSIDE the Marinksi dancers, I was gonna buy that. She said "No, I'm not having that, here is a FREE ticket for Friday.". So I thanked her, and I took it, and I went down to the theatre on that Friday with my MP3 player etc, and I gotta tell you, ballet isn't my thing but I always support my girls, so I turned up. When I got there, I noticed no cars in the car park. And going inside, it was empty. Just dancers, and teachers etc. So I went into the theatre, and I was practically ALONE, 700 empty seats, maybe just 20 of us in there watching. I thought there was something wrong. THEN I realised, she'd given me a ticket to the REHERSAL, not the actual show. And I watched the Marinski ballet literally reherse the routines, over and over again, and watched them stop half way and adapt their performance, making it up as they went along. And I gotta say, after those first few girls walked out onto that stage, I took my MP3 player out and just stared in AWE at how they moved. They didn't even look HUMAN, they were PERFECT. Such amazing talent, even as someone who isn't into dancing or ballet, even I could see how special these girls and guys were! I sat there, mezmerised, for three hours watching them. So awesome. I was glad I went in the end. And I got the DVD and seeing my own little girl dance with those guys is so special. After the rehersal I was so hyped, and I went to the bar which they told me WAS FREE (I think only Marinski dancers / coaches and a few local councillors were invited that night AND ME). So I drank a few beers and I met some of the dancers at the bar and every single one looked beautiful and were smiling and friendly etc. No ego at all, no airs and graces, just great talented young people! I was making them laugh with my terrible Russian pronounciation! I only know a few words, they were correcting me and laughing. I'll never forget that night. Unexpected great experience. After the actual show, my daughter said to me in the kitchen when she got back, she was like "DAD! How do you know the Marinski ballet performers? They found out my name was Eleanor and they started talking about YOU! Whats going on?" and I winked and said "Oh they're my friends!". Hahaha. I told her the truth eventually, but she got selfies with all of them after the show. And they were super nice to her. Russia is the pinnacle of ballet. Always will be.

The Bolshoi Ballet is phenomenal! It is the best in the world. I saw this ballet company perform once. Then. I actually saw Galina Ulanova; perform “The Dying Swan” in the 1960’s. It was one of her last performances. She danced like a swan and gave me a lifetime memory

From the bar lesson, the level is as high as a finished work. The piano playing is pleasant and I want to listen to it all the time.

I agree. Overall Vaganova students are much better -- less flowery too -- not to negate, in anyway the high level of these lovely Bolshoi Academy students.

Сравнивайте с 2011 годом (это экзамен в 2011). За эти годы и Москва, и Питер изменились, техника уже ушла вперед везде. А так да, различия всегда были а школе. Плисецкая, Максимова и Бессмертнова - это Москва, Колпакова, Кургапкина и Осипенко - Питер, заметьте, сравниваю практически одногодок))).

На видео класс иностранных студентов, которые учились в академии 3 года всего. А не российских детей, которые учились 8 лет. Так что сравнивать студентов по российской программе обучения и по программе обучения для иностранцев - не корректно. Да и нужно было указываться, что это экзамен иностранцев в названии, по российской программе обучения на сцене госы сдают

Удивительно, что мне попалось это видео в рекомендациях, ведь я не особый поклонник балета. А вот когда увидела в списках Анну Исаеву, сразу подумала: "А не та ли, из" Большого"?" А это, и правда, она! ☺️ Очень понравилась в фильме, как и сам фильм, и приятно видеть, что многие комментаторы здесь ее выделили из числа девушек.

@@solnhsenot true. According to the initial slide, which names the students in this exam, 3 are from Japan, 4 from Russia (specifically it said «Москва»). Interesting how people don’t pay attention to details and then make unsubstantiated and false claims. It even lets us know their birth year, height and weight.

The girl with the bandaged knee was excellent. She had grace and strength in all her movements. She danced to and with the music. Her placement and balance was very good. She moved with ease and confidence. Alas! that was not the case with some of the other dancers. I was very surprised to see a lack of balance at this stage! also reaching with the shoulders! Most of them were not listening to the music they were just getting through the movements for the exam. I thought the standard at this stage should have been much higher.

A lack of balance?! Also, as a classical singer, the music should move to the dancers/singers in live performances. Good accompanists understand musicality and tempo and don’t hammer out notes like a metronome. No I am not excusing poor musicianship on the part of singers or dancers or soloist instrumentalists. These young dancers are performing their movements - sustained as well as sequences etc - with phenomenal strength, purpose, and grace. They move THROUGH the movements instead of jumping/rushing from position to position like so many poorly trained dancers. There are several who seem to me to be clearly the best of the group but these dancers are still relatively young and are not obviously soloists at this point in time, I’m also happy to see how the classical movements are emphasized and there isn’t an over-emphasis on en pointe dancing and other more flashy elements that destroy young dancers’ bodies before they have the chance to fully develop.

@@AleisterCrowleyMagus Don’t get me wrong; I understand what you were conveying, and I am in no way saying, implying, suggesting, etc., that anything you expressed was “wrong,” “incorrect,” “without value,” “unsubstantiated,” etc., especially in a general sense. With that said, though, OP’s observation of the former student with the knee support bandage’s noticeably innate/natural musicality and ability to dance as if she and the music are as one, not to mention her unmistakable and distinct talent and skill, which includes the level of strength, control, technique, musicality, ease, etc., she has, as well as how overtly connected she is to the valuable nuances throughout each movement/step and combination/section, ultimately, was pretty spot on, without a doubt-I say this as a former dancer. All the girls in this video are talented, of course; These girls wouldn't have made it into the school in the first place if they didn't have talent/potential. Nonetheless, the particular girl who seemed to be recovering from a knee injury at the time was at the top of her class and excelled past her peers in numerous ways by far. Musicality, as far as having a natural ear for the music while dancing and blending the steps, movement, choreography, etc., with the music in the most harmonious of ways *[or how one’s teacher or choreographer specifies],* was one of my fortes as a dancer/artist that came so naturally that it was rarely a conscious thing I needed to execute. Whenever I'm watching dancers either in class or during a performance, picking up on someone who has that innate skill and ear for the music/musicality and noticing who could use some more work in that regard is almost an instantaneous thing that I hone in on, as silly as that might sound to some people, lol. It took only mere seconds into the video for my eyes to get damn near immediately drawn to the girl *[she's undoubtedly a woman at this point since some people are saying this is from 2011]* in question with the knee support bandage for all of the reasons myself and OP both specified-she has and exudes that “it factor” and an immense amount of potential that stands out amongst her fellow dancers/classmates. There is one thing you said that I did want to highlight and touch on; I’m referring to the “they move THROUGH the movements instead of jumping/rushing from position to position like so many poorly trained dancers” remark/comment. Now, perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you were saying precisely; Still, I figured I would at least establish and potentially remind you, in a general sense, that there are steps/movements, combinations, variations, etc., in ballet and other forms of dance that are staccato in every sense of the word/term. Therefore, as opposed to moving through the movements, steps, choreography, etc., in the way that I am pretty sure you meant when saying that, there will be times when the objective of the dancer’s steps/choreography is to be sharp, quick, and “jump,” aka, transition, from one step to the next somewhat “abruptly,” for lack of a better word. A lack of fluidity through a dancer’s steps/movements does not necessarily indicate “poor training” or that the dancer is not executing the steps/choreography correctly, essentially, is what I'm trying to say, lol.

Was this their final graduation exam? Who is the girl with the bandaged knee, who had to drop out of some of the center exercises? I hope her knee is just a temporary issue. Was she accepted into the Bolshoi Company? She looks familiar. She is beautiful, with so much potential. Everything going for her. Tall, ballet body, great technique, fluidity, artistry, projection, expression and confidence.

The girl with the bandage was good but some of her movements were a little bit too exaggerated, and some others were too subtle, maybe because her injury. The girl behind her was good too, she did the second exercise the best in my opinion.

Смотрю с удовольствием, конечно не сравнить с Вагановскими, но потрудились. Молодцы! Хотела бы узнать ,гле такую музыку для классического танца можно найти, что за композиторы???? Я ,очень люблю балет, спектакли. Это большой труд. Педагог-профессионал. Себе для урока взяла комбинации кое-какие.

Это все авторские композиции, похоже, в нотах их не найти!😢 Сама аккомпаниатор в хореографии и нот, увы, готовых мало, хотя сейчас они есть в принципе, в отличие от того, что было раньше.

Могу ошибаться, но одна из девушек (на середине в первой тройке с травмированным коленом) похожа на Анну Исаеву ( играла роль Курниковой в «Большом»)

Тоже заметила Анну Исаеву. Как странно, столько лет отдать обучению, протанцевать всего 3 года в театре и уйти из балета! Жалко девочек, что так рано надо определиться с профессией, так долго учиться, а потом понять, что это не твое!

This is their graduating year since Anna Isaeva (the girl with the bandaged knee) graduated in 2011. I am surprised to see that many of them can't keep their balance, have poor posture. And they seem mechanical in their movements

After these students have been trained in the Bolshoi school for years I wonder if anyone ever fails one of these exams. That would say more about the training than the dancer. If a dancer is so bad that she fails, how did she make it through the school? Makes me wonder if it's really an exam or just a chance to promote the school.

Agreed. She’s def the best one out these girls. Compared to the vaganova graduating class videos I’ve seen, they’re a lot “hoppier” on their turns… seems like their balance is a bit off.

You just need to email them through the website. I don’t know any rules and fees for that, because I wasn’t international student and I went through auditing and all studies is absolutely free in Russia for citizens.

Я изначально отправила фото свое и парня, с которым проблема, мне выставили сумму, я не стала спешить, хотя тоже купилась на положительные отзывы на сайте, затем через некоторое время наткнулась на видео в интернете с таким же текстом, где девушка уже заплатила и результата ноль. Затем я сама решила проверить и отправила фото совершенно левых людей из интернета, которые не знают друг друга и вуаля, ответ приходит один в один как у меня, только с другими именами. Если она настоящая маг, то она должна была это видеть, что люди никак не связаны между собой, ну по крайней мере это мое такое рассуждение

Просто на ютубе же можно писать негативные отзывы, но их нет почему-то. Я пообщалась с другой девушкой, ей не помогла работа с Анастасией, но она присылала ей видео отчеты, как она сама делает работу.

Я на сайте Магов России хотела оставить отзыв девушке, которой якобы помогли, там отзыв был просто с адресом почты, чтобы она отписалась и его просто не пропустили. Т е я так понимаю отзывы там плохие и не нужные отсеивают сразу

🤣Смешно))))Особенно про не "под ноги".....Музыка не бывает "под ноги",удобной или нет.Из-за таких дурацких высказываний огромное количество танцоров остаются ограниченными глупыми запуганными буратинами. И про фондю-не фондю тоже смешно.Любое движение можно делать под любую музыку.Вообще под любую Работая в театре в этом убедилась и на классе ,и на на постановочных репетициях.Вопрос эрудиции и практики.

@@olgapeshina4879 Спасибо)))Судя по орфографии и пунктуации,автор комментария не отягощён интеллектом.Можно было и не заморачиваться.Просто "играющих в ноги" с каждым днем все больше(без размера,квадрата,акцентов,характера,единого дыхания и т.д.),а музыкально грамотных танцоров все меньше.Из-за этого на репетициях в театре вынуждены топать,хлопать,считать и т.д. Не приучены у нас музыку слушать)

Какое неравенство между людьми. Детей род(ителей) с возможностями учат балету - удовольствию, а байстрюков заставили на смерть идти за род(ину). А я, рискуя жизнью, учу байстрюков с обеих сторон баррикад, что им надо с балеринами местами поменяться, а не воевать со своими одно-судьбовщиками такими же как и сами, не имеющими батьків(щини) с другой стороны баррикад.
