I love this Porsche. The chrome headlight bezels look a little goofy being so bright compared to the rest of the car though.

I think they are rad! I don't know if i will keep them on this car as I dont' see a 997 RS as the type of car to modify aesthetically but i will definitely keep them for whenever i get a 997 turbo to daily HAHAHA

@@vin_traBeating on a turbo as a daily is the most aspirational thing; right there with you. Worse yet, make a baby GT2 out of a 996 turbo since you can rwd convert them and if you get a X50… halfway there. The manual turbo experience!

The stencil wall was so cool. You cut the whole sheet and mount it then move it to the shop and take your pieces as you finish the build. Like a sheet of decals. Brilliant.

I get not wanting to risk the OE wheels on track days, but i'm going to have to agree with others that those replacements don't look as nice. Maybe the mentioned possible color change would change my opinion.

I feel ya but for track wheels they look cool and will do the job. I think ill try a new color as i dont really love black wheels in general.

@@vin_tra My opinion: I think body color would be too bland. The whole look needs a contrast with the wheels. If they're going to live on the car a lot and you want tasteful, I'd do them in the OE silver of the OE wheels. If they're track-only, color match 'em to the red on the mirrors. 😁 Hell mirror red might even be just the amount of wild for the streets as well. It would tie in with the grille insert, the wing end plates, and the rear badge. In fact, that's now my new top choice. These can be red! 🤣 @FicarraClassic

991.1 headlights are similar to remove, very easy. On the 991.2 they finally changed it so the headlights aren’t so easy to remove, because people were having their headlights stolen so often lol.

Fun fact: Here in Brazil most of the Porsche parked on the streets gets the headlights stolen, because it's that easy to remove. Just to give a idea to how much expensive is a Porsche headlight, the minimum wage here in Brazil is R$1.320,00 Reais, only 1 used Porsche headlight costs at least R$24.000,00 Reais.

we only wrapped the parts that were previously wrapped. The paint was perfect underneath so just a quick polish and it was good to go

These headlights are notorious for getting stolen. I'm not going to explain how it is done, but it is easy. I've seen video's of Porsche dealerships getting hit, with the whole lot having their headlights stolen. I recommend fabricating something that locks the 5mm socket in place as that plays a part.

Love this car. Crazy thing is there were 541 units of the 997.2 GT3RS units sold in the U.S. compared to 654 units of the 997.2 GT3 sold in the U.S. Still crazy to me that the units sold are so close for the two cars. And a testament to the RS that it sold so many. The 997.1 GT3RS only sold like 410 units.

yeah its kind of crazy but also in comparison, they made about 10x the amount of 991 gt3 and RS models which makes any 997 GT a super special car.

The issue with that hedlight mounting system is that it is extremely easy to force it from the outside and steal them, especially in newer models, they stick some duct tape on them and pull

I love yellow brake calipers on a gray car but with all the red accents and graphics I think those calipers need to be red. Especially with these new black accents.
