Bolton's Sky Bet Championship match at home to Brentford on Saturday has been called off, the clubs have announced.
The news comes after Bolton's players threatened to go on strike for the remainder of the season in protest at unpaid salaries.
The English Football League (EFL) says it has decided to "suspend" the fixture following the "disappointing developments" and deems Bolton to be guilty of misconduct, adding in a statement it will now consider whether or not the fixture will be played.
