Mods are what made me put 200 hours into this game on steam. Love battlefront 2. The classic collection is so bad that it actually inspired me to make a video like this.

Aspyr wouldn’t have to worry about fixing their mistakes if they just released a finished working product

7:20 Seems that the UnOfficial Patch 1.3 is missing (Which adds Free Camera and Fake Console to the game, the later allowing for different skins to be chosen).

Main reasons why the mod looks better is that not only were the textures handmade instead of AI upscale, but also most of the models were handmade, which is most obvious when you compare the clone troopers from the vanilla game and the mod, and the one from the mod is much more detailed with more polygons.

Please try the battlefront 3 Legacy mod, or at least do a new video related to the collection that modder quite literally made that canceled game in the old game👀 very damn good work

Could this Mod be the Savior of Star Wars Battlefront? The OGs of course.

I've been modding the game for years and the amount of content and maps there are is insane. From Ki Adi Mundi restored lines, to changing the music for the menu, to maps with over 1000 units. There's literally no reason to get the collection.

When Aspyr first started re-releasing old Star Wars games I was so excited. Thinking about all the old games to replay with slightly better graphics. Like the Rogue Squadron trilogy. Now I’m worried that they’ll just release another over priced broken game pack. Edit: I was even more excited at the KOTOR remake. But, on brand, they let me down again.

The controller feels super weird in BF2 in the classic collection, but then it feels perfect in BF1. How did they achieve that?

For a 70GB “Classic Collection” download, this is kinda what I was expecting…. It to look like…

You forgot to install the 1.3 patch that adds a "fake console"

I pray to god that when the next generation of consoles is released it actually gives us access to the game files so we can finally create mods compatible with consoles. I know its an ardous task which could potentially destable games after release (especially when playing online), but just imagine the level of longevity and bug fixing that community mods could reach... It would essentially save games that have been abandoned by their developers as well as make for a stronger more lucratrive gaming community overall. One way they could achieve this is by creating a built in mod store for all/most games... in which players could choose free or even paid community mods that have been reviewed and supported by the respective developers. This would reduce cheating, mod compatible issues for online and even ensure console players that the mods there installing won't damage or break the games or consoles that they are using it for.

Yeah if you have a PC there’s absolutely no reason to grab the classic collection unless you really want to experience some sort of multiplayer if that’ll ever work.

I imagine this wasn't the content you were hoping to be making with the release of Battlefront Collection.

I literally downloaded these mods last weekend and enjoyed BF2 in all its glory. After seeing the classic collection I did exactly the same thing, just went back to the OG BF2 and got the same mods you did, which I find a crazy coincidence and had/ am having a blast!!!

One of the Battlefront 2 mods I really love is Battlefront extreme it no visual upgrade but just 9 classes to choose from when you play a it’s so beautiful

Ive been playing this mod a lot, on the Geonossis map you can fly the LAAT's, but only the ones hovering higher above the ground, the 2 that are on the ground don't fly for whatever reason.

There is an Xbox dlc mod for the battlefront 2 on steam, ASPYR actually used assets from it in the first trailer from the classic collection.

Me and a fellow modder are working on a mod for EA battlefront 2 called “Realistic Overhaul” This mod aims to overhaul the health and damage system to be a more movie accurate tactical experience. This mod will prioritize realism and accuracy to the Star Wars movies, while also maintaining balancing between characters. The overhaul will affect troopers, heroes, and reinforcements. Some other changes will be that Friendly fire will be present, rockets will be more effective against vehicles, recoil and weapon sway will be more present, snipers will one shot, grenades will be more realistic, and star card abilities (thise affecting damage and health) will be balanced. One example of balancing will be that the droidekas shield will be op similar to how it is in the movies, but when their shield is down they have low health especially when rolling (1.25 damage multiplier) similar to the OG bf games. We plan to release a beta within the next three weeks, with a full 1.0 release coming in late May or early June. Let me know if you have suggestions or questions! I want this to be a community based project built for the fans! Also I plan to run this mod with a few others on a kyber V2 server this summer. May the force be with you.

I got this game for a $0.99 during a steam sale last year. Don't regret it at all.

I'm a huge fan of this mod. Huge props to Harrisonfog and his team for putting this together. Also, if you want to play with all the added stuff from the Classic Collection in the OG Battlefront 2, there's a mod pack called XBOX DLC that has everything. No need to buy the Classic Collection when you can get all this for free.

Try this with Saga Edition, Heroes of the Galaxy and Reign of the Old Republic with custom maps. You will get best Star Wars Battlefront experience I think, I love this combo. 😁

It's so confusing how fans can make such impressive stuff with compressed files and no access to source code, yet paid devs that have everything on a silver platter can mess up so badly with Classic Collection

Nice seeing some love for the modding community! Some other mods i’d suggest are: conversion pack 2.0 and 2.2 patch (Adds bf1 maps, new units and 1,3 unofficial patch with free camera and other goodies) The Clone wars revised (lots of great animated TWC with new units and ashooka hunt modes) Ansem darkseers mappack (op the force unleshed units, even kit fisto + ventress, with insane effects and fun gameplay) Battlefront extreme (my favorite mod ever gameplay wise, the creme de la creme of bf mods)

If they left the fans do the work for the re release then this is how it probably would’ve came out. And at that point I wouldn’t mind spending 39 bucks for a game in this new improved experience and with paying for a game like this we support the modders win win for everyone

Apparently the original mods were actually used for Classic. Dataminers found files made for the mod in the release version.

How did you play with controller? Also fun fact you can install a mod that adds Kit and Assaj. it works with the remaster ive done it!

The super battledroid flying through the air is completely normal, i have been playing Battlefront 2 2005 since before battlefront 1 EA was released, and that happens when a grenade explodes under your feet
