I remember lying in bed with my husband in December of 2019 reading about a mystery illness spreading in China. I was super freaked out. My husband tried to assure me that it wouldn't become anything major but I had a gut feeling.

I was hospitalized that February with what ended up being the exact symptoms later known as COVID. The hospital which I was admitted to completely isolated me. I was examined by tens of Dr.s during my two week stay. The said that i was suffering from pneumonia and the flu, but they knew that wasnt true. Honestly thought i was going to die

Knowing what the virus was designed to do and the research would help to understand the virus we all live with and will live with. If the Chinese government is only one in possess of this information and they went for a zero covid policy, it scares me to think about the implications. We all are in deep deep troubles.

My wife is Chinese and has friends in Wuhan. I can tell you that it was enough of a problem over there that by early November 2019 they were running out of PPE, and small clinics were being ignored in favor of larger hospitals with regards to supplies. Chinese people here were sending PPE over there in droves. Some were making a huge profit, a 3 pack of N95 masks could fetch $100. My wife was going to our local Home Depot and Lowes and buying every N95 mask she could find, and she was sending them to friends in Wuhan at our expense. She didn't take a penny. I have receipts from November, and December. I think it was late December or early January and for whatever reason she couldn't ship stuff in to China any more. We stocked up on canned goods, MRE's, toilet paper (!), paper towels, etc, in January, and when cases started showing up over here we took boxes of PPE and donated them to our local hospital, then hunkered down. The nurse I handed them off to was in tears. The notion that the first official case was Dec 19 is a joke, this thing was already a disaster over there by early November. Everybody we know in Wuhan knows where it came from. As for intelligence agencies not knowing what was going on, wtf? If I knew, there's no reason that the US intelligence apparatus shouldn't have known..

I sincerely pray that justice is served. So many lives were lost on something that could have been prevented.

I lived in China for 8 years and I was doing research on viral infections and I was a friend of bat lady who was in wohan China, and because my wife died, who was Chinese I was asked to leave the country and not to return my dead wife was a research scientist and visit Wuhan quite often after my return to the US I got a call from bat woman early in October I was told all he'll broke loose at the research lab in Wuhan. Asking her about the problem I was told that 13 employees at Wuhan had died and the rest of the lab was told to say nothing to anyone else about the 1st of November I read in the world press about covid's virus

It sickens me that there are people fighting for reparations for slavery that occurred 200 years ago, yet won't fight for any degree of compensation or justice for what has happened with this. These three scientists in the lab are the ones who were allegedly infected in November 2019 correct? I'm not quite sure the timeline adds up for me. It doesn't take into account that the viral database was taken offline in September 2019, that there was a cellphone blackout in the lab in early October 2019, and that several athletes who attended the World Military Games in mid October 2019 in Wuhan got sick with Covid-like symptoms. Therefore in my humble opinion the first person infected was probably in the incident in the lab that caused the shutdown in early October 2019. I think we can safely say now that the natural origin hypothesis doesn't hold any weight anymore even if those responsible for what really happened in Wuhan keep peddling it while dismissing the lab leak one. We know they were doing dangerous GOF experiments in the lab, partially funded by the EcoHealth Alliance through the NIH and Anthony Fauci in America. We also know they were doing the bulk of these experiments in BSL-2 labs, so no face protection. Therefore I think it's most probable that incompetence in the lab led to workers getting infected with a virus they had manipulated to become more infectious to humans, which then got out into an unsuspecting public and spread around the world, so far killing around seven million people. What followed was arguably the greatest cover up in human history as those who knew where the virus came from and how it came into existence worked hard to cover up their crimes against humanity.

From the very beginning I had this feeling that something insidious was going on. it's crazy how scientist could either be heroes or villains for the world but it all comes down to who pays the most money and we all know Villains' usually do

One word we need to shout from the roof tops, keep in the forefront of the conversation: ACCOUNTABILITY ACCOUNTABILITY ACCOUNTABILITY!! until individuals can be held accountable and face consequences it will surely happen again.

And who was funding the research? The US Government. Both countries have questions needing answers, who was more complicit, the ones doing the work or their bosses paying for it?

I always believed COVID-19 came from the Wuhan virology lab, because the coincidence of a spontaneous species crossover in the very town where they were experimenting with that exact thing was too long in odds to be believable (the Wuhan lab performing biological weapons research was public knowledge years before 2019). Privately, among friends and family, we would discuss it in those terms. Publicly, I kept my mouth shut because it was portrayed in the media as a conclusion one reached because of racial bias. I work with a number of first generation immigrants from China and I would never want to inadvertently insult them, although ironically before this news even broke out it was one of my coworkers from China who told me "of course it came from the Wuhan lab, the [Chinese] government always lies about stuff like this", which allowed us to have a more honest conversation about the topic. I'd note, however, that even he didn't announce this opinion in the presence of others until after the news broke. In fairness to the right wing media, they correctly called this even as the left wing media called them racist for saying so. To be honest, I don't know if those conclusions on the right were reached the same way me and my friends reached them or because they were motivated to reach that conclusion because of racial bias or a combination of the two, but they were ultimately correct, in much the same way that we eventually learned that cloth masks weren't very effective at stopping the transmission of the disease. I will say though that despite much protestations to the opposite, the truth is that in all but the most seriously ill people, meaning 99%+ of the population, the costs of wearing masks was minimal, mostly just inconvenience, and so I still judge people refusing to use masks harshly because it was such a small concession to make for the public good and we didn't actually know during the first year or two of the pandemic that the masks weren't working very well. Scientific studies take time and data, and anyone saying they "knew" in 2020/2021 are kidding themselves about their true motivations. Ultimately this whole thing was a witches brew of geopolitical politics, racial bias, racial sensitivity, political tribalism, and personal self-interest. I honestly don't know what lessons we can take from all of the bitterness over it, but we should at least try and find some because I don't believe this is the last time in many of our lives that this type of situation will arise. We are a deeply interconnected civilization who cannot afford to think exclusively in terms of local concerns anymore, and I think we've seen the high cost of political tribalism because it encourages group-think and the willful suppression of logical thinking to comply with group opinion.
