After the death of Dan Blocker, we see the Cartwright family fade to the background as outside characters began to dominate the storylines. Bonanza was never the same without Hoss. The cast, the producers, and the audience knew it, which is why Bonanza only lasted one season after the passing of Dan Blocker.
