Gluing is by far the most common activity in model making. The range of adhesives on offer is as diverse as the materials. Here I'll introduce you to some of the glues I use and some alternatives to them. Even the more well-known products often have lesser-known properties, some of which I will show you here.
Polystyrene: The dichloromethane shown is also known as methylene chloride.
The PVC rigid foam panels discussed in the film (e.g. brand name FOREX) are also often available in hardware stores. As an alternative to Henkel Tangit adhesive, you can use most PVC gutter adhesives from the building materials department.
Uhu plus endfest was previously offered under the name Uhu plus endfest 300. This still exists, but it is now only available to commercial users. It's a shame, because this recipe was much more versatile! Here are both data sheets for comparison:
