You could do with a grappling hook to help with getting the bikes out. I did find a WW2 find in a UK canal, really is great to find history.

It's a gas cylinder N2o Nitrous oxide very high pressure. Cylinders with Argon, Oxygen, Nitrogen can have up to 3000 psi. You should be extra cautious when handling them from a water way. If the cap is off the top and the brass valve is exposed that is extra dangerous. the valve inlet hole is about the size of a small stirring straw and 3000 psi coming out of that will torpedo it thru buildings. I worked for Airgas and pulled many valves out of cylinders. The machine. I used had a cable counter balanced deal that would pull the deal down, it fit the valve, hit a button and it turned it out after clamping it in. Reverse to reinstall the new valve. The brick wall had around 25-30 holes in it that was by the machine. One day my boss walked by so I asked, "where did the holes on the wall come from"? He looked at the machine and said "from cylinders that had gas left in them the worker forgot to let out". It would have been the loudest thing you ever heard. You would have permanent hearing loss if you had no PPE in them. The pressure is no joke. Hydrogen gas is so flammable at 6 psi will self ignite and during the day you can't see the flame. A Hydrogen gas cylinder was leaking on the loading dock and a employee loading a truck walked right into a fireball of white/blue flames.

G'day Leigh, what if you scuba in that area to look for the case????? Would you have permission. That bike just didn't want to leave the canal eh!!!!! You aren't having much luck today getting stuff on land. It's certainly not the most picturesque part of Amsterdam, is it the industrial area? Perhaps if the canal has been dredged in the past, maybe someone has scored really well with the jewellery. Well a diverse l o t of rubbish today. Cheers Rosemary Perth Western Australia (70 yrs)

Hi Rosemary, the water is really hard to see coz it so murky and full of rubbish but I would like to dive there. It’s the outer edge of the city so not as pretty as the old part but still nice areas around everywhere 👍😃

Jewelery would mostly not be magnetic. I think you would have to get in there & sift through the mud in the bottom of the canal.

You want to find WWII stuff you need to look outside of amsterdam. There was a lot of fighting on the road that goes through Einhoven to Arnhime. Sorry about the spelling. All the little towns and canals on that road were small battlefields, and the big cities were places with major confrontations.

@@BondiTreasureHunter #1 between the rail bridge and the road bridge (and either side of them) on the Waal river in Nijmegen also north on the same river the allies made a forced crossing by boats, there's a bend in the river where a power plant used to be and they crossed north of it. their boats got shot up pretty good as they crossed. old road bridge is about where N325 crosses the Waal today, the rail bridge is in the same spot. the power station is just north of the bridge for S100 2. Arnhem: the Nederrijn south of Osterbeck is where brittish 1st peara evacuated at the end of the battle, i would look north of the hockey club and west. also a large part of the fighting took place on and around the John Frost Bridge, also where N225 crosses there used to be a rail bridge that was also the scene of some frighting. much of the fighting for the bridges in both towns included a lot of people fighting ON the bridges themselves with the predictable amount of stuff getting knocked off.

@@BondiTreasureHunter man i would love to, unfortunately i live in Texas, so that would be a long trip to get there. in reality ive just read a lot of books on the subject and done a bit of other research. just finished "the battle of Arnhem, by Antony Beevor" yesterday. right before watching this video in fact. but the whole operation market garden has been a fascinating subject to me ever since i was a kid. the fact that the Germans were on the run, just a week before the battle started, but it was so mismanaged by Monty that they were able to recover and deal the British one of the worst defeats they ever had. plus it was such a novel idea to try taking all the bridges by airborne drops and then just try and shove an armored core down the road to relieve the paratroopers and the fact it almost worked, has always fascinated me.

One problem with finding treasure with a magnet. The best stuff isn't magnetic like gold,silver,copper and jewellery. What you need is to do some metal detecting there. I reckon you will find lots of valuable goods if you did. Great video as always man❤💛💚👍😉

YOu need to treat that spot like a metal detecting spot. Keep getting out the junk and all that will be left is the treasure! Love the gas cannister. Good old Nitros Oxide. Pump that into your camper van when you need a speed boost!

14:04, It looks like a compressed gas cylinder. The smaller end looks like a cover that unscrews to attach a line to the tank and then the valve can be opened.

Go over to the grassy bank on the side and throw for the bike from there. Maybe it will stay on. The laughing gas container did look like a bomb. Lol. That was pretty cool. 👍

Leigh, after watching so many of your videos, it astounds me how many thieves are in Amsterdam. Every canal you find so many stolen items. I thought potheads were laid back. lol

It's funny I looked it up while you were spelling off the canister and it came up in Dutch. Had to translate to English. You said laughing gas right when it said that on line. You don't need laughing gas, you are always laughing. Love watching, I'm in California U.S.A. Thank you.
