Man, this story gave me chills. Similar thing happened to me but It was just me and that unknown cannot be seen thing. You know like you feel the presence and the intent that it was out to harm me. So I ran to my mum and my family kneeled down and prayed. I'm just glad faith and prayer is enough to fight it off. I was so scared I started to sleep with the blessed cross my mum gave me.

It was based on a true story, although the movie was blown way out of proportion, but there was an exorcism involved at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. My dad was one of the doctors involved. Of course the child was a boy, and otherwise his name was hidden, and no one knew who he was until he was well into adulthood. There is no doubt it is real. Yes, it is immediately discounted by most psychiatrists who are skeptical of almost everything spiritual. They will and feel they must find another explanation. Part of it is they think everything is psychlogical. I understand their desire to solve problems in the way they have been trained, and they are usually exceptional people. I agree. Some of it has to do with culture. I’ve been to a few churches, but where I am now (a non denominational church) does not shy away from this. I believe it’s because it’s a predominantly Mexican congregation. Including the elders and pastors. I’m not tryna throw race into this to cause division because it’s more about culture. Mexicans/Hispanics dabble in spiritual things, (not always in a good way) and so when people are dealing with demonic attacks, they act accordingly. They are much more open minded to it. They wouldn’t diagnose it as just a mere mental illness. This can be counterproductive if it was misdiagnosed but that’s where we have to discern.
