I just discovered this "slacklining" and I think it should be considered like a real sport, or at the very least a constituent of gymnastics Right now it seems to be like a complete orphan of a sport, and so no one can discover it for themselves without being interested in reading about tightrope walking. Upon hearing about it, my first thoughts were "uh.. how is that any different from tightrope walking?," -- an activity that is much more associated with risking ones life over great heights than doing any kind of freestyle tricks or visually impressive maneuvers. Honestly it reminded me more of skateboarding than it did of tightrope walking, because of the crazy tricks It can be far safer than even a trampoline if you keep it low and leave a cushion beneath your line, and the equipment needed to make a set up is so simple and accessible that almost anyone could try it. I wouldnt be surprised to see slacklining becoming a really big thing in the not too distant future
