Bonnie Elizabeth Parker (October 1, 1910 - May 23, 1934) and Clyde Chestnut Barrow (March 24, 1909 - May 23, 1934) were an American criminal couple who traveled the Central United States with their gang during the Great Depression, known for their bank robberies, although they preferred to rob small stores or rural funeral homes. Their exploits captured the attention of the American press and its readership during what is occasionally referred to as the "public enemy era" between 1931 and 1934. They are believed to have murdered at least nine police officers and four civilians. A photo of Parker posing with a cigar came from an undeveloped roll of film that police found at an abandoned hideout, and the snapshot was published nationwide. Parker did smoke cigarettes, although she never smoked cigars. According to historian Jeff Guinn, the photos found at the hideout resulted in Parker's glamorization and the creation of myths about the gang. The 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde, directed by Arthur Penn and starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway in the title roles, revived interest in the criminals and glamorized them with a romantic aura. The 2019 Netflix film The Highwaymen depicted the law's pursuit of Bonnie and Clyde.

Great Video! Awesome storytelling. I am heading down that way to film for my channel soon. And like you I love the history weather it is dark or not. I have always loved reading and researching about gangsters. I started My channel so I could be motivated to go to these historical places and visit. Just started my channel so I am still learning lol. But great video, I have watched almost every video on the hideout. Now I just need to figure out my own take on it. But I can't wait to visit it for myself.

I’ve been on a tornado binge lately so now I can’t hear the name Joplin without my gut wrenching. Edit: I live in Gladewater, TX where Bonnie’s brother Hubert “Buster” had lived. This is also where Clyde, Henry Methvin and Joe Palmer had kidnapped Wade McNabb for him to be never seen again. Gladewater is also where J.A. Nichols of Wood County, TX was arrested before Bonnie and Clyde were killed, which ultimately tipped them off and that’s when they fled to Louisiana to only return back to Texas post-mortem.

Lots of history in Gladewater. Johnny Cash wrote I Walk The Line at a hotel here. Elvis Presley visited a lot and Gladewater is said to be where Rockabilly music got its big boy pants

You are one great story teller. I’ve watched all your Bonnie and Clyde videos. So, so interesting. What a great job! I myself am not a fan of what they did. However, it is still a very interesting part of history. I’m glad you shared with us.

This was fascinating. I, too, am drawn to some of these, horrific scenarios. *Like you, in NO way does that mean I am a fan of the perpetrators of such tragedies. I would not shed one tear recalling the eventual fate of heartless B. or C. Their victims❤️‍🩹 do deserve recognition, however. Thank you, Nick, for the visit to the cemetery, and for also mentioning the name, and job description of the other victim, as well.🙏🏻🙏🏻 Standing so close to that garage must have been chilling, in some ways. great video, as always 🙏🏻...👏🏻👏🏻
