'Bonnie Dundee' is a song written by Walter Scott in the 1820s celebrating John Graham, who would become 'Viscount Dundee' in 1688, and leading the first Jacobite rising in 1689, he died during the Battle of Killiecrankie, going down as a hero.
During the Jacobite uprisings. In 1689, following the Glorious Revolution, Graham declared his support for King James VII of Scotland and led armies of men in a Jacobite rebellion in an attempt to restore the Stuart monarchy in Scotland, and in England.
