Saw Bonnie live in 1979 in a smaller venue and when she sang this song the audience went silent, her voice was so clear and true that we were all transfixed. I’ll never forget that performance

I will never tire of hearing Bonnie sing. Her voice is still in excellent shape, after all these years. I got to see her in the Woodlands, decades ago, with none other than the Great John Prine opening for her. Unforgettable!

I was named after my mom, lived in Montgomery Ma, am now 70 +, and was married for 30 years to a " child who grew old " ( who I miss incredibly ). This is obviously my favorite song that I lucky enough to see both Bonnie AND John Prine sing a bunch of times , LIVE! That's the good thing about being old music lovers!

I adore John Prine’s music, especially Angel From Montgomery ❤❤❤❤❤ Now I am an old woman, lol, wow, I have loved Bonnie since 1975, her music introduced me to John Prine, Bonnie and Brandy sound great together!!!! I’m not named after my mom, but several of my nieces are named for me, my mom & my mom’s mother 😊

Love this song, and the anthem Bonnie has made it, along with so many great artists singing it with her over the years. Brandi gets the honor, rightly so, of being added to this list...and the heart of John Prine who wrote it - God bless them all! I heard that an "angel from Montgomery" was prison slang in Alabama, for getting a pardon from the governor. We are all spiritually imprisoned in normal, material life - and many times, willfully so. To let time roll by like a broken down dam, without addressing whatever spiritually ails us - is just a hard way to go - but not the only way to go. May everyone find peace with their Maker and seek spiritual grace and freedom - whatever that means to each individual seeking spiritual meaning. Thank you all. May peace be with you, praise God, Hare Krishna - may we all find our way home.
