Bonnie Raitt dishes on her favorite '80s musicians, returning to her folk storytelling roots on her 21st album "Just Like That," and "not hanging up her spurs yet" after receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's GRAMMYs. Bonnie and Kelly also bond over their mutual love for Aretha Franklin's "I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You)," and Kelly fangirls over Bonnie's live performance of "Love Me Like A Man."

In the summer of 1977 in NYC (think NYC bankruptcy, "Son of Sam" murders, Reggie Jackson/Billy Martin feud, heat wave, huge power outage), there was a concert series in Central Park Amphitheater and a hill overlooking the venue where you could watch for free, from a distance. I saw Bonnie Raitt, Judy Collins, and Harry Chapin on different nights. What a time.

I don't think she meant it that way. You would have to know, understand, & keep in context. The specifics of what she is saying. She was talking about Prince only. She did not believe. Based on the women presented / objectified in all his videos. Especially In the 80s. All his girl musicians included. That he would believably be expressing how sexy he found her. In the context of a video / song. in the 80s everything Prince did was highly sexualized. In a very Specific way. It showed a preference. Lookup a video called Sugar Walls. Sheena Easten was a pretty, but very wholesome, safe artist. ( at least as presented ) She wanted to change her image. Watch the vid for Morning Train. ( her first big hit ) Then the vid for sugar walls written / produced, By Prince.
