For those asking why we didn’t get chicken, lol there is no way Olivia could have eaten it and I was catering to her needs. So no chicken. The kids loved their dinner and went to bed full. 👍🏻

Ibuprofen, mashed potatoes, ice cream, soup and a travel dental hygiene kit will be Olivia’s best friends!! Take the brushing seriously!! It’s all so worth it and I pray her mouth isn’t as sore anymore!!

You should avoid ibuprofen with braces.

@@ashlyngapinski2478 Motrin decreases inflammation. Braces cause inflammation to move the teeth. The teeth need the inflammation to move. So when you use Motrin the inflammation goes down. So therefore the braces have to work longer and harder to move the teeth

I’ve had my braces for 5 years now and honestly the best advice is whenever you get them tightened or sortve adjusted Soft foods for like 2-3 days like jelly and mash potato really help! That uncomfortable feeling WILL go away I promise haha 🤍🤍 Bonjella is also a live saver for ulcers in your mouth from the brackets! They look so good! Xx

The little tiny brushes that are by the dental flossers will be Olivia's best friend. I always carried them in my pocket just in case food got stuck in my braces. She is adorable with her braces on.

My grandson was given 28 weeks of Invisalign instead of braces. It has been working amazingly well for him. He takes the trays out to eat then brushes his teeth and puts them back in. Olivia already has a beautiful smile so she will be even more beautiful when she gets her braces off. Thanks Olivia for sharing this part of your journey.

I’m halfway through my braces and you do get use to the tightness but every monthly visit the first couple of days always sucks so bad! Goodluck Olivia beautiful chompers here we come!

I used to watch your family every day and then I had my own children and life got busy- not surprised at all to see your kiddos are turning into well rounded sweet kids. Love that you let them choose if / when to film etc.

As a former braces patiently for 7years tips, follow to don't eats, use the wax given, take Tylenol as needed,brush after every meal, can ask the school nurse to keep toothbrush and past or keep in purse or locker, the little flosser brushes are a life saver to clean between brackets and rember they are only temporary and the final results are amazing! Love Olivia's positivity over them love you all 💛

Oh my goodness, Olivia looks so so so cute with her braces! She is right about how they used to do braces, i had them when i was about 14 and they would tighten the wire every few weeks. The pain was horrible and the wire would cut into my gums D:

I used the wax on my two front teeth in the beginning and it helped not make my lips sore or get caught on the braces. You look beautiful Olivia.

Congrats olivia!!! I got my braces when I was 13 and after 4 years *hopefully* if everything goes right I’ll be getting them off next month! That first year is probably the most difficult cause you’re not used to it and even just remembering the pain I had when I got them on kinda gives me ptsd lol! After the first year it becomes second nature maintaining them and it just becomes apart of your life so good luck!

I remember the feeling of having my braces on and I had the same feeling of wanting to rip them off but the time flew by and before I knew it they were ready to come off. It will all be worth it in the end! Praying the pain goes away soon and she can eat more solid food soon lol!

I’ve been an Ortho assistant for years! Soft foods, cold food like yogurt and ice cream feel good on a sore mouth! Waterpik doesn’t replace flossing, but it’s awesome!! Look up Platypus Flossers they’re a thin floss pick that make flossing so easy! Tons of chapstick help the braces not stick to the lips especially as fall and winter weather is coming!! Cutting up food in smaller bits really helps too! Also if she needs rubber bands in the future, wear them religiously they’re so important for her treatment!! ❤️

Omg AND the proxi brushes are awesome to get anything that’s stuck in the braces out! You can order a pack of them on Amazon! They’re perfect for her to put in her backpack for school and they’re great on the go!!

Olivia you are rocking the look already! They look so gorgeous on you. I had braces and loved them. The soreness is a pain (literally). I recommend ibuprofen, super soft foods. The soreness should feel better in a couple of days. Do you have to go every month for adjustments? If so, eventually you’ll get used to the soreness and it won’t be nearly as bad as the first week. You look gorgeous mah dahling! You’ve got this! 😁 Take a toothbrush/toothpaste and dental picks to school just in case. 😉

Olivia, I remember crying in my parents bed that my mouth hurt the night I got my braces. So uncomfortable! It does get better!!! This is the worst pain of the whole thing. It’s sore when they tighten them, but nothing like the first day. I hope it gets better soon for you!

Olivia, you look beautiful! I think the color choice was perfect. I remember braces were cool when I was younger LOL I was jealous of the kids that got them. Pick up some *AQUAPHOR* for Olivias lips!! So much more effective than chapstick, even if she only uses it as a night mask. Moisturizing and healing properties, great for wintertime.

It will hurt for a week when you first get ‘em tightened! You get used to it. Time crawls by so quickly. It will feel like the days are going by so slow until you get them off. Then you’ll reminisce. Looking good Olivia. Keep truckin’

The way Olivia described how braces used to be put on is exactly how mine were put on, like 12 years ago! It was horrendous, I hope this new way is less painful. And when they came off they had to grind the glue off of every tooth. But I look at my nice straight teeth almost every day and love them!

so i am probably really late to this but the warmth of her mouth will activate the metal more because the wire is made out of titanium so when it gets worm it will cause it to tighten so therefore if she eats cold foods it will make her mouth feel so much better coming from a person with braces for a while i love yall so much

I got mine a year and a half ago and today we had my scan to get Invisalign. That’s how I’m finishing my treatment. Funny thing is, I’m 28 😅 but the pain goes away after 2-3 days, but I do remember wanting to rip my teeth out every time they adjusted them 😢 but she looks so cute with them on!

Aw congrats! My son is 1.5 yrs in and I’m excited to see him with them off! Soft soft foods for the first few days! Every first few days when she gets them changed , they’ll be sore! Good luck hun! And I floss my sons for him, I don’t trust him

Yay Olivia!!! she has the exact same issue with my bite and I’m running up on my 2 years of braces. It will go by a lot faster then you think (at least that’s how it was for me)
