Peter is the best in the biz and my favorite bonsai personality. He is constantly sharing so much wisdom, and without trying to capitalize on it. Peter is a true gentleman. I love the fact that he refuses to fall into the elitist mentality of making hard and fast "rules". Peter has learned over the years that there is no "one way" to do something. He does not promote the "know-it-all" mindset. Most experienced individuals of his caliber in intellect, realize that you continue to learn things even into your last days on this earth. That is a true sign of wisdom based in experience. We love you Peter! Keep doing what you do. Vivre la vie!

Another priceless video ! Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge with us all. On my next trip to England would love to be able to visit your nursery. But for now, your videos are an absolute treasure of knowledge, information and, most importantly, your thought process of why you do what you do. You make it clear that there are many ways to do things, and you never insist that yours is the only way. But I definitely enjoy the insight and am taking your thoughts as I embark on my bonsai journey. I have both your master class and your Japanese gardens books, and absolutely love them! I’m going to see what other books I can find online, because your books also have your thought process laid out in such a coherent and easily understood manner. You give us such specialized information, that we don’t feel overwhelmed. I look forward to each of your videos as you share your great wealth of knowledge and the insight you’ve gained through years of experience and study

Hi, i’am Joey.. i favor this man more than any other on earth! I’d drop everything i have going on in my life and do anything to live under his tutelage and just tend to bonsai and work all day..learning,living and loving until i pass on..i feel all My energy and time and hard work is going into making sandwiches that I’d don’t want to do anymore.. don’t want to raise up in the ranks and become a boss i’am overqualified..bonsai work is live and i want this more than anything.. took me 33 years to find my end and i have many talents and skills but i do not wish to become rich off my ideas, skills and or physical abilities..lol i’am rambling!.. You are awesome!!! Super sugoi!..please take me in (and my bonsai too of course! i have two 20yr old junipers an 8yr old and a 3yr old and an 8yr old Chinese elm..I’ve always wanted a satsuki but my hands are full atm cus i live in Henderson Nevada and i raise them alone it’s just too hot!)! I’ll give you all my money! Train me! Let me live there I’ll sleep in a shed haha I’ll work for free and reduce labor costs! I’ll give you coworker references! i hope you see this! i’am very determined and want to help and know that i helped to serve you and the bonsais so that they may live very very long lives!... nothing would make me happier than that alone.. thank you for reading.. i love, appreciate and acknowledge all that you do! -Joey AD Falvey

Thanks for this great video explaining bonsai to folks who don't know much about them. I especially loved learning about the stem cell and the reduction in amount of cells from reduced leaves. I have been growing bonsai for about 20 years and didn't know that. I knew about redirecting the tree's energy through the manipulation of auxin bt trimming apical growth but hearing this leads to a reduction of total cells was quite enlightening.

good tips for sphagnum moss. i use it alot as well. it also makes a perfect bed for growing other mosses. I grind it up to a fine grit and spread it on smaller bonsai as a type of mutch. helps keep the moisture in so I can water less often. if you keep it damp long enough it will turn green and start to grow.
