At the risk of merely stating the obvious, I must say the last one was amazingly resemblant of a glacier or mountain by or in the ocean or a lake. Quite a fascinating video. Thank you for sharing, David!!

Thanks Chris yes it does look like a glacier!

The last one is my favourite one, I see it as a vast lake with mountains at the far end shores
@BonsaiSociety2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I also see it as an immense lake or an ocean crashing at the base of the mountains

Love the great suiseki examples in your collection, but more than that I love how passionately you talk about them. I think the last one, representing the large plateau, impressed me the most.

Thank you they're so inspiring that I can't stop talking about them

I'm also passionate about rocks and gems! Such vivid descriptions, I got pictures in my mind. I could almost see the tiny people, trees, and animals that formerly lived on them on tiny, far away planets! 😄

There is an old Chinese saying about majority of Stone collectors: Stones collection begins with the love of Landscape Stones and ends with loving of Landscape Stones. " 爱石者,始于山水石, 终于山水石。"

Second one, represents the grandiosity of nature. Also I loved the custom size holders they are kept on. Beautiful.

I love the small suiseki I have one which was collected from Death Valley in the sixties by a Scottish bonsai artist he had a stand and a lined box made to display it in. I love it and would like to get some more to start a small collection.

Thanks David. I’d love to know more about the custom made stands that the stones sit on. Both the stand under the stone and the display table they sit on. Can you do a video about that please. Nice one.

I will do it in the future! Thank you

Thanks for sharing David my favourite was the last one, although I rather thought that the flat landscape looked like a sea bay with the ripples in it! I'll be keeping more of an eye out for rocks on coastal walks in the future!

The second one that you talked about was easily my favorite. Seigaku-ishi, I believe? I hope my spelling is correct. I've always found great interest in Suiseki, but have already gotten to the point where it feels like I've bitten off more than I can chew with the amount of bonsai/pre-bonsai I have taking up space!
@BonsaiSociety2 жыл бұрын
You wrote it correctly. Seigaku river stones are my very favorites!

Hello, Mr. Easterbrook! I have watched all your videos and learned a lot from them. You have not done a video on tools. Could you advice a good tools set/ company. I am very confused with all the brands saying, they are the best!
