@giancarloabreu2523

@@JesusLordOfLords455 it does not. They go hand in hand. It is not works that saves us, but faith. However, genuine faith leads to a renewed person, which leads to obedience, which leads naturally to works. It’s simply the natural course of living your life in surrendering to God. Instead of being “my works saved me” it is “because of what you’ve already done for me, I will do my works.” The lack of that change just blatantly shows that nothing has changed for the person, and that they merely made an in the moment emotion driven choice, or they think that just saying they believe will save them, but that’s not the case. Remember that Jesus said “depart from me, for I never knew you” to people who called Him teacher, not unbelievers.

@@josephbelov6212 literally the whole letter of James oppose to the teachings of Paul. Paul teaches the message of faith, and just with faith you'll get salvation, faith alone without work. But James teaches to work and follow the will of god that were taught by Jesus, and says that faith alone is like no faith, to have faith you have to do the works. And (Matthew 7:21-23) perfectly describes teachers as paul and their followers. "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness."

I hate to do this to you because it's not fair and kind of off-topic but James wrote one of THE MOST anxiety producing verses of the bible: "Now to him that knows the good he ought to do and does not do it, to him it is sin." (See James 4:17) If that verse doesn't keep you under eternal condemnation then NOTHING will. Who can honestly say that he's doing everything he can 24/7? It's the stuff of psychosis. Indeed, God Himself cannot save you from such sin. John talks about the "sin unto death". I think James defines it. Paul talks about freedom from sin but James is the master of putting you right back in bondage.

@@Esico6 I can say the same! I had "lost" my job in a strange circumstance 4 months ago and it had made me anxious and worried about my future. But I remember the Lord will always take care of us which made me choose to trust in Him. In my time of struggle with trusting and worrying like on and off switch and lots of tears, I was reading psalms to remind me how great God is and He will take care and provide to those who put faith in Him. While unemployed, I was being provided small income as a freelancer. Now I have got the full time job after few months. It was not a easy journey but having faith make it so worth it. So praise and glory be to God!

@@GizmoFromPizmo "Who can Honestly say he's doing everything he can, 24/7? It's the stuff of psychosis. Indeed, God Himself cannot save you from such sin." I'm sorry you believe that. I think that Jesus teaches otherwise. "Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:24‭-‬26 NIV Nobody can do their all 24/7. That's the entire point of Jesus coming to save us- because we ourselves cannot. James 2:10 says anyone who breaks even one part of the law is guilty of breaking all of it. Paul writes that the wages of sin is Death but God's gift is eternal life in Jesus. Peter writes that Jesus bore our sins in His body on the cross. Jesus paid for all sin, once for all. James' point here is not "If you miss your chance to do something good you're eternally condemned". His point is to encourage us to live out our faith in our actions. If you've been forgiven and loved by Jesus, and you love Him and call Him Lord, you'll serve Him by serving those in need. I pray that you find encouragement in the Gospel, and be free from your anxiety.

The letter of St. James is my favorite place in scripture, and that’s tough to claim as there is so much to love. But James - Jacob - is a great floor plan for living a Christian life. I know it by heart because I read it everyday before my evening reading of the Holy Bible (wherever I am at the time) and it’s always uplifting. Before my morning reading I always latch onto a Psalm. Is not our Lord God magnificent? This presentation of St. James is a delight and I’m glad you made it. Peace to you.

Actually that relationship is what I find so compelling about James, how many people can go from seeing their brother who they grew up as a a little brother to the messiah, It would take something massive to make anyone any that about their sibling. I'm glad I found these cartoons. They're funny, but they're also good because they explain the books of the Bible in a way that's easy to understand. This make reading the Bible fun (or at least interesting and a lot less of a chore that I 'should' do). There are some hard parts and a lot of sad, offensive and outrageous parts of the Bible. Just like there's sad, offensive and outrageous people in the world. At times the Bible is hard to understand and trying to fit one part to the next part, or to the previous part gets confusing. It's really nice to have these videos. Sometimes the simplest is the best.

Now I’m doing my own bible studies myself and a separate one with my best friend. I’m still trying to separate my catholic beliefs from the actual truth from God. I was taught that Mary was a Virgin and Jesus had zero siblings. Can someone please help me out on this one cause I’m very confused. Thank you and love all these videos❤️

The catholic church teaches that Jesus did not have brothers to support the belief that Mary was an immaculate (virgin) saint. But think about the context of the time → Mary was engaged to Joseph, both Jews, and received the message that she would be the mother of the Messiah. Okay, she had the Messiah and through a miracle of the Holy Spirit, which made her give birth even if she was a virgin. But she did not remain a virgin. After all, she was engaged to Joseph, and we all know how the marriage was consummated in the past. Moreover, we have the fact that for a jewish woman, especially at that time, it was an honor to have many children. How can Mary, a Jewish married woman, not have other children? The gospels and biblical historians also can confirm Jesus' other (half) brothers. Hope you can keep your Bible studies and I pray to the Lord that he can show himself more and more through his beautiful word Here a little verse from Hoseah 6: 3 to encouraging: “So let us know and become personally acquainted with Him; let us press on to know and understand fully the [greatness of the] Lord [to honor, heed, and deeply cherish Him]. His appearing is prepared and is as certain as the dawn, And He will come to us [in salvation] like the [heavy] rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.” Sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language! Stay in peace!

ISAIAH 59 - JAMES “So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:19) WORDS BY: JESUS "The normal Christian life consist of many testings and it is your job as a believer to count it a joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that you will be blessed with the crown of life when you faithfully endure to the end. The purpose of all testings is to increase you in every way spiritually and physically that you may become pure as gold refined by fire. However, many do not make it through fiery trials because they are not faithful to uphold My truth in everyday matters. Your response to daily temptations is a good indication of what your response will be when the enemy comes in like a flood. If you are complacent, careless and casual about righteousness you will be swallowed up by darkness, for faith without works is dead. This is why being a doer of the word is vitally important and if there is no practical action in your life, then there is no overcoming nor crown that awaits you. When the enemy comes in like a flood I will lift up a standard against him. That standard is not for the compromised but the faithful. To be part of it then you must question, are you living up to My standards? Can I look at your life and be pleased or do you know deep down there’s more you can be? My desire is for you to receive your crown; but the enemy’s desire to rob you of it. Who are you going to listen to? Be faithful to stand strong in the truth you know, remembering that out of the tongue comes blessing or cursing. Resist the devil and he will flee from you, knowing that every trial is but for a time. Seize them as opportunities to grow and increase from and watch as you see the outpouring of blessings come flooding through for you."

I'm afraid not. There is a lot of debate as to the relationships Jesus had with the rest of his family because of ambiguous Greek and Aramaic wording and idioms. For instance, they describe James (Jacob) in this video as being Jesus' half-brother, assuming him to be a younger son of Mary and Joseph. The earliest traditions reject this, though, and the Catholic and Orthodox churches consider it blasphemy. Other proposals are that James was an older step-brother of Jesus -- Joseph's son by another marriage, from which he became a widower. Still another proposal is that James was a cousin of Jesus by Joseph's brother Clopas and his wife "the other Mary." It wouldn't be the first time a cousin is referred to as a brother in the Bible, because the scriptures use the same word to describe literal brothers as well as cousins, nephews, uncles, and other kinsmen.

If you read 1 Chronicles, it lists the genealogy that leads to Jesus. Just not entirely to the end to when Jesus is born. But the first 5 books of NT should say a lil bit more of it as well.

@kacangbumbu987 perfectly put. People seem to forget the fact that Mary and Joseph were Jewish... Actually, that Jesus and his disciples were Jewish. Peter had a mother in law so he was married... Mary and Joseph were engaged and, in that the time and context, why would they not have any other children? But why those details aren't mentioned in the books? Well, I don't think knowing who Jesus second or third brother is important to our salvation xD Maybe in the coming kingdom we will all know something~

Thoroughly enjoy the narration and renderings...one suggestion, huge...the royal Torah law is summed up as "love your neighbor...as your self." Don't leave off "as your self"...people who do not know how to love themselves envaribly project their pain unto others in the form of control, manipulation, willfulness, and the like...that is not love, it is actions born out of fear and anxiety. To love the self is to love the entire self, including the dark/shadow side, own it, embrace it, understand it and have self-compassion with it. To deny it, keeps it alive and creates a person living a double life, a split self always struggling for authenticity. Don't overlook "as yourself." Keep up the good work!

It's great to see the true name restored. Because it's important to realize the English James is not a transliteration of the Hebrew Ya'akov. That transliteration would be obviously Jacob. The incorrectly English translation of James comes from the incorrect translation of John Wycliffe in his English translation which further got cemented when the king "james" version was produced. To easily see that it's incorrect: 1., in every other place in the Wycliffe translation especially the old testament Ya'akov was correctly translated as Jacob (if James was simply a transliteration then it would've been translated James in every other instance, and 2., every other translation in another language translates the Greek form of Ya'akov (Iakobos) as their version of Jacob, not James. By restoring the correct biblical name we more fully appreciate the Jewisness of the letter
@pompshuffle562
@pompshuffle562 2 жыл бұрын
At a certain point tradition overpowers translational accuracy. If you were to refer to it as the book of Jacob it would probably lead to confusion. Its probably better left as a footnote.
@billvigus3719
@billvigus3719 2 жыл бұрын
@@pompshuffle562 that's the exact opposite of how to promote truth and is one of the very issues Jesus railed against the pharisees elevating tradition above truth. No, you would correct the name Jacob wherever it says James and provide a footnote of the inaccuracy.
