I think this game needs the XP-56 Black bullet and the XF5U Flying Pancake. Two aircraft which would be pretty interesting to see but never added in the game.

The B17 was perhaps the biggest disappointment of the game. It gets shot down within the blink of an eye. Just as the B29 btw which can even meet guided rockets so that you never had the slightest chance in the first place. So when this video tries to portray them as incredibly sturdy flying death traps for attacking planes then I can only wonder if the devs actually play their own game. Shooting down bombers in this game is simply a turkey shoot. There’s no skill or tactical approach required.

If you shoot at bombers with 50 cals sure its definetly a challenge but almost every plane other than the freedoms have 20mm cannons that instantly disintegrate the plane

Even in real life bombers are as fragile as the one in war thunder, its just the US had at least 16 of them with 3D defensive fire, not including escorts. with normally fighting against 6 interceptor There are just way more fighters in War Thunder than the bombers, also brain dead escorts who escorts too close.. and the only thing i can blame gaijin is the Bomber's auto fire feature which doesnt shoot by itself anymore unless real real close

@@black_thunder2159 theres plenty of accounts of b17s surviving what was thought to be impossible. Teals ripped off, 3/4 engines gone, pilots bleeding out and landing. Yet in game its nothing even close

@@saplingseedsaccrew3143 The only 20mms that don’t are the Soviet ones, that pretty much act like .50cals versus most of the bigger bombers, but are deadly to smaller aircraft, which is hilarious, imo.

I noticed that the American bombers have a issue let's call it toothpick tail. The tails of all the American bombers just seem to snap off at the slightest 13mm up calibers rounds. Usually a brust fire from 13mm sometimes even 7.62s snaps the tail off the Bombers series of aircraft on the American tree

I event tested it with other bombers they don't seem to have that issue, usually tanking 15-30 seconds of nonstop fire before fire takes off the wing or all the engines going down at once. Even the rank 1-2 bombers in other tech tees take more damage before dropping.

The B-17 doesn’t like keeping tail control, and generally you can’t just use flaps.

It'll just be reserve vehicles. Things in the game since the very beginning and that everyone that plays the game for a week can play with before they realise how bad the grind is

Not all of us, i routinely play reserve tier even though I have hundreds of hours on the game. I routinely get top 5 place too.

The B-17 is quite strong, the B-17E can get an air kill against weaker enemy’s (like A6Ms) add two bases down and you have a wonderful grinder.

The A-7D has a slightly higher 1 second burst mass than the F-4E and the A-10a Early has an even higher at 60 something and the GAU 8 has the largest 1 second burst mass for a single gun in the game. EDIT: The F-4's is higher than the A-7's, I forgot they changed that but the A-10 does have a burst mass of 66.92 kg/s

You missed out the PV-2D, and bombers so gunners need working on as I fly a ace crew of all bomber and my ai gunners never fire by them selves

Have you ever play your own game?, because the b-17 is NOT that resistant, because in real life, to take down a b-17, you need 1000 rounds, but is as fragile as glass, and to the b-29, you have to sell EVERYTHING YOU EVER HAVE, to play 1 Batlle with the bomber, and is also very fragile

Speaking of the B-17, has anyone else noticed that the bomb bays in the B-17E don’t visually open, even though the doors are listed as open and you’re able to drop bombs?

the tomcat has the same accelaration as the kfir. also i tried at 6000 metres in a kfir, hit mach 2.35 (like 2500 kph)

The Grumman F14 Tomcat has to be the most inspired design in military aviation history. Everything about it says thoroughbred. One can forgive the F111B legacy engines which let it down, and see the aircraft for what it is, A Masterpiece of functional design.

Question: When is britain getting the Washington bomber?. US, Russia and China have the B-29. But Britain has no comparison with the Shackleton (being a naval sub hunter) having less payload than the b29. When will Britain get the B-29 that was fielded in very large numbers before the V Force bombers where developed shortly after the canberras?

This is incorrect. According to the stats page literally on warthunder, the F-14 is not the fastest aircraft. That title goes to a Swedish premium aircraft, with second place going to top tier Italian star fighter.

In real I love the F4 Phantom II as a multirole fighter/bomber. The design, the sound, the payload... a dream! The F-14 Tomcat is my favorite as a real fighter. Espacially the swing wings are the best of it in combination with its rockets. For me the best dogfighter jet of the last century.

I just wish the thing's IR signature was less ridiculous. I can lock them headon with aim9g's from decent range, which means you can get yeeted from angles you think are safe.

@@ovrwrldkiler It does have overclocked engines that came from the F-111 Aardvark, and runs through fuel incredibly quickly, so it makes sense that the two massive engines together have a very hot heat signature. The MiG-23s and 27s work around that issue by having large-caliber countermeasures, but the Tomcat doesn’t have those.

@@kommandantkillcode Its not even the countermeasures, its that the thing can get locked at stupid ranges and angles that other planes wouldnt with missiles that really shouldnt, including mig23's. The flares work fine if you use the setting to fire two at once (so the same as a phantom since the f14 has a single launcher instead of two).

One thing to add is that the F-14A had energy issues, Their engines were underpowered, at least more underpowered than the B-model of the F-14.

If you guys ever add F-15 that would be my absolute favorite of designs even having a faster speed then the F-14 at Mach 2.4 being it’s top speed the F-15 has no match day speed wise but until you guys add the F-15 Eagle my favorite is still F-14

yeah... I feel like everything said about the B-29 is "true" but only on paper. sure it can "level and airfield" if there's 3 of them, the bases are knocked out, and they aren't intercepted by enemy jets. sure it could carpet bomb a convoy but how often do we see those in ground battles? and yes, it does have a wealth of freedom cals... but the AI won't fire them because people aren't stupid enough to get that close and usually can engage with cannons where the trade in damage favors the agile fighter and the bomber pilot gets the "delightful" return to hanger with a loss of up to 15k (as of writing this comment).
