@@darkangelw8472 I saw in The theaters, as well with my friend and his gf in college. Joe Berlinger said his director’s cut was more suspenseful, changed the order of the interrogation scenes and didn’t have the bloody gory kill flashbacks, the studio made him change that and add those pointless gory scenes post facto. He also had Sinatra’s “Witchcraft” playing over the opening credits and the studio made him change it to the Marylin Manson song, instead. They obviously fucked up his original vision. Thanks greedy studios and producers. We will probably never get the original version due to the fact that this movie was so poorly received. However, the original, save for the ending, was so dull and boring and poorly acted. This felt more like a real movie than the first one. The fact that the witch possesses them and fucks with all of them turning them against each other was an awesome angle and it felt more real and genuine and you identified with the people, in the first one, not so much. There are lots of Easter eggs hidden in the film, as well. IMO, it’s a dee see can’t horror flick that manages to be superior and trumped the original, which had a novel and clever and now overused concept of found footage film with a decent ending and boring start and middle. Watch As Above, So Below (2014) to see an excellent and scary, Flatliners-like (1991), found footage horror/psychological film.

I forgot he was in this after watching burn notice. Would love to see him in more stuff, burn notice is one of my favorite shows

They're not going to waste time and spend money releasing the director's cut of a 20 year old movie that was critically hated. Some fans may want it but even more fans hated it

@@DavidKen878 Scream factory would easily do it for them as for fans that hate the movie I highly doubt they would care at all if the director's cut got released no one really cares about Blair Witch in general today.

Still no Bluray and "Blair Witch" (2016) wasn't good.

@@TheIndependentLens yeah.. dang. I bet berlinger still feeling the sting of that experience. I hope someday he realizes that it's his art, and it deserves his own approved release of the film. Joe, you made a great follow up to Blair witch. It has a fanbase.. it's smart and it holds up.

@@robart1979 I really enjoyed it and thought it was interesting the whole "film lies, but video tells the truth." I didn't think in the commentary that he should've given a definitive answer as to if that statement was supposed to be true, because I feel the film works even better with discussions of: Did what we witness as audience watching the film part see the truth and what really happened or was what later showed up on the tapes the truth/what really happened? Unanswered questions such as that make movies way more interesting to me than just "No, the tapes were what happened and that's why they went to jail."

The line delivery from the actors could have been better. In many scenes it was laughably bad and felt obviously rehearsed.

I watched it too. Its a shame it will never get an official director's cut release.

I'd prefer a real, legitimate directors cut that doesn't just take a few scenes and edits away. Not really all that effective or impactful in terms of difference if you ask me. At least not as much as people seem to claim, as if it suddenly becomes a totally different film and vision, lol. I'd like to see what his original final cut would've been because I'm sure there was plenty left on the editing room floor. That would be a lot more appealing than just having a rearranged and trimmed version that you could piece together on your own.

All i can picture is the spit flying out of his mouth.
