@sayitasis8326 sigh....check the stories of Anasi. The main points of anansi's stories revolved around learning lessons thru the use of animals as main characters. As civilization migrated out of pangea we saw f "fairytales" transition to people focused. Very few things of "theirs" didn't originated from us. It's not "their fairytale" it's the reclaiming of story telling and moral teachings through fantasy...which we created.

@tjones237 The Anansi stories where written circa 1500, so what you're saying is that before then, it was all animal-based? That's just not the case. As well as the fact that it changed only when we moved out of pangea? The Anansi stories were written in 1500..…we already had trade routes around the world at that point, and we were definitely far from our migration out of Africa. By that point there had been cultures developed around the world, with their own folklore, and of course that can be influenced by others due to cultural exchange, but they are still unique in their own right... Not to mention, there was also much more before 1500, with African /African-American culture. Folklore have existed in every single culture, essentially since language has. Before written word, stories where passed down. That wasn't mutually exclusive to African/African-American American culture. Even these Disney characters,where inspired by a multitude of cultures, some of which were not always considered white to begin with and even when it comes to the brothers grim, which is where the bulk of the inspiration of the early stories comes from - they where written after the Anansi stories but they where not inspired by them "At Marburg they came under the influence of Clemens Brentano, who awakened in both a love of folk poetry, and Friedrich Karl von Savigny, cofounder of the historical school of jurisprudence, who taught them a method of antiquarian investigation that formed the real basis of all their later work." So they were inspired by German mentors, and German folklore. There are plenty of things that were inspired by African culture, such as country music for instance. But that doesn't mean everything was, it's a lot more complicated than that. The contributions that we BIPOC[I'm not African-American,but I'm 1/2 Peruvian], are obviously very important. But we can bring up, and draw attention to those contributions, without discounting the positive contributions of other cultures. Folklore is one of those things, like bowls, where multiple cultures came up with them around the same time. It's like convergent evolution, but for culture. It's called multiple independent discovery. Hope this gives you a starting point if you want to research more. 💞
