@@nickross656no it was because they had a discrimination lawsuit being filed against wcw at the time for racism so Vince & wcw put the belt on booker to get the lawsuit thrown out the same reason they put the belt on Ron Simmons back in 1992 because naacp was saying wcw were discriminating against African American wrestlers cause there was no black wrestler in the main event & no black world champion.

This is a load of bull and just another way to try and throw shade at the guy lol. Russo was the one who made The Rock world champion, Godfather IC champion, Mark Henry European champion and D'Lo Brown the first person to ever hold the European/IC championships at the same time. He put the tag titles on Rey and Konnan as soon as he got to WCW. He saw the talent that Booker had and pushed him to the top because that's what he always did - elevated new stars.

I met him years ago. 2005, I think? Not a meet and greet, just while he was walking through the airport, where I worked at the time. Stopped to take a photo with me. Very gracious. Cool guy.

@@aidanmcgrath911 no, I didn’t want to bother him, to be honest. I just asked could I get a photo, and he said sure. We both did the five-times hand gesture. I look like an idiot in the photo. 😁 Met some of the other wrestlers during the same visit and got photos with most: Taker, Angle, Big Show, etc. They were all gracious, though I’m sure they don’t want to hang around and have a conversation in an airport as it’s tiring enough traveling. Kidman stood out to me. I think he was surprised I recognized him and shook my hand before getting a photo. You just have to choose your moments and be courteous. I met RVD once in a gym. He was walking around, and I said hello and told him I was attending the show the next day (it was during his TNA run), and he said cool. He was in the middle of a workout, so I left it at that. I’ve never had a bad experience with a wrestler, but again, you need to choose your moment and not try to occupy their time or ask weird questions. I have a friend who met HBK once. Said he was an asshole. 😅

Even though Russo is delusional, he stands by his decision and doesn't fence sit. I can respect that least

@@ikejones3163 He and Batista had heat, they got over it, even if they still feel the same way they did, when they fought. Cryback started talking shit to him and challenged him to a fight, if Book is saying shit about him, I don’t blame him. I have no idea what he said about Punk, but Punk probably just ignored it, like he does Seth Rollins. As for Russo, he doesn’t like some of the stupid decisions Russo has made over the years, but he was clearly joking when he said he hated Russo.
