People are turning to CM Punk for that. Originally Jungle Boy brought up glass and apparently Tony Schiavone and a producer asked Jungle Boy not to do it. Booker T hit on a key point. The reason Tony Khan brought CM Punk in, in the first place, is because they didn't have a Quarterback taking them to the next level. Punk shows up. Average viewership increases, ticket sales increase, PPV buys increase, they have their first million dollar gate. The one chance the 'friends' had of making sure that Punk never came back, was to show that they could handle the ball without him and they fumbled it. PPV buys went down, ticket sales went down, ratings went down. To the point that WBD said, 'we'll give you a second show and a large tv deal, IF you bring Punk back'. They put all of the power in his hands by not being able to answer the call.

You only got half the story though. AEW officials were arguing with Perry all day at a Collision taping that he can't use real glass. Perry was defiant. Punk showed up at the building and was ASKED to talk to Perry about it. He told him that's not how things are done on Collision but he could try doing it on Dynamite. Perry then apparently stayed angry about it. Punk lands at Heathrow, no one is there to pick him up, guy literally rides the tube to Wembley, gets lost, has to have fans ride with him to get him there. He shows up after all this, probably angry and rightfully so, and he sees fuckin Jack Perry of all people trying to show him up live on tv. Perry then walks backstage, bumps Punk, Punk shoves him and asks if he has something to say, Perry says "do something about it", Punk "chokes" him rather than punch him until it gets broken up. Punk STILL goes out, has a match presumably out of respect for Joe, comes to the back where security surrounds him and escorts him to his locker room which has to be separate from everyone else because The Elite won't be around him despite his efforts. If I'm CM Punk I would have no showed the event just like Booker said after that travel incident. But I guess he's a bigger man than me because he shows up anyway and is greeted with that kind of disrespect. What would've happened if some punk rookie kid that's not over and is 100% replaceable stepped up and disrespected Bret Hart, or Kurt Angle, or Undertaker, or any veteran? They'd get way worse than what Perry got. The fact it was IMMEDIATELY leaked tells you EXACTLY who was behind it and it's the EVPs.

I think we learned from WCW that a negligent shell of a management structure, where money completely replaces respect, it's never good for 1 wrestler to have a level of "power" heads above the rest, and especially unfettered power, even if it's just for 1 show a week. I don't dislike Punk, but if what they're saying is true, and that he has so much say so that he can dictate who comes in and who doesn't, it's ridiculous. I think if Punk wanted to do and be what he has reflected through his actions over the years, maybe he needs to do what Cody Rhodes did. Maybe Heyman would have been successful had he known Punk much earlier. But to walk into another person's company, where you've had little to no hands in building up, it doesn't then matter how much of a veteran you've become, you can't do the aforementioned and expect the locker room to either bow down in submissiveness or hold you in high esteem and respect.

I'm so tired of seeing Jack Perry. I don't think his ceiling is much higher than it is at right now. There's got to be someone better on that roster that can use that airtime.

You spelt CM Punk wrong. This is the first time Jack Perry has been in a backstage fight and lo and behold it's CM Punk yet again causing problems.
@sirprisoner10 ай бұрын
Something about Khabib and McGregor's success business wise was the story, the build up was real. UFC made a hell lot of money and was the most successful pay-per-view in the history of UFC. What wrestling fans seems to have forgotten is that the storyline is what makes a match a great match or just a match. CM Punk has a lot of great match set in AEW in the future. The Elite vs Punk is already the word in the wrestling world. Tony is waiting for the right time is what I feel.

To quote Jim Cornette, All Elite Stunt Wrestling.. they need to go back to wrestling, good gimmicks, and storylines and stop the lazy 6 man tag matches and unhinged bs by these indie guys. The drama started with the Bucks to the point Cody left and the treatment CM Punk has been getting now. Perry overall is part of the problem and you cant see this brand growing with bad seeds running it

This happened in Gorilla before the CM Punk and Samoa Joe match. So Punk and Joe should physically be in the area. Jack Perry already had his match, so what reason did he have to be right there? He made the comment directly to the camera and made sure he was in a position to have an altercation that he had already instigated.

In a Smackdown commercial shoot, Batitsa showed up late. Told smackdown wrestlers Raw was better and they were lucky to have him there. Booker T told Batista he should have some respect. Batista started talking smack and Booker said theres a side room and said let go handle this one on one. They went closed the door and Booker T whooped his ass. At the time Batista was jacked and the champion. The following tv taping he had to wear glasses to cover his black eye.

Tony Khan is 100% to blame. He doesnt have the backbone to be a boss like a vince mcmahon or eric bischoff back in the day. Paul Heyman had a set of balls too. Tony Khan is a fanboy who wants everyone to like him. That makes for a terrible wrestling promoter. Its just not going to work.

@festo512 And how often did backstage incidents occur with Mcmahon in charge? Those incidents happened within the span of years not months or weeks like AEW. Vince may not have "punished" them but he definitely put his foot down which is why you don't hear as much about backstage issues in WWE.

When Jungle Jack said it to the camera, from a fan stand point, I thought he was building his bad guy up speaking to the fans that say wrestling doesn't use real stuff or that its fake. Now that I know, from a storyline it could've carried over to TV in a positive for Jacks current gold fever he has and going after another belt and would've been good shit! BUT..... CM Punk has more issues with upcoming talent, and or, CM Punk went on 1st in AEWs current biggest and largest crowd. He always had a grudge for not going on last at Mana, ontop of all the other issues which seem to mirror WWE. All signs point to him being a huge issue no matter where he goes on the big stage, but the catch22 with him is from a talent and TV personality, he is a huge chunk of the big stage.

So let me get this straight..... Your top superstar in CM Punk arrives in London with no one to greet him or car service to take him to his hotel and the number that he was given to make contact for information turns out to be an invalid number. If it wasn't for the fans who recognized CM Punk and helped him out he probably would have never gotten where he needed to be. Then you have to turn around and deal with this type of childish antics from skinny little punk in Jack Perry?!?!?! And on top of that he might be suspended and not be able to show up for All Out in Chicago.... I don't know how anybody cannot see how CM Punk can be extremely upset dealing with this entire situation not just with Jack Perry but with AEW as a staff, wrestling label and a whole MF'n crew. Punk Is Really Dealing With Children.

AEW has been using real glass for years now. Just look at BCC. If he wants to use it then let him use it. As simple as that. Forcing one guy out of like 50 guys to not do a certain thing is just plain bully tacktics. It should be for everyone, not just one single guy.

@user-rr2ti3jd8y10 ай бұрын
I think people aren’t following Punk as veteran advice is because of the way he left the business in 2014, the shit he talked about WWE in the years after and then of course being absent from the business until 2021. So I think the hate is coming from the fact they don’t respect him for him not being part of the business for so long.
@jackhughes763710 ай бұрын
No he didn't. He went on a podcast and explained why he left because people were expecting him to give his reasons for leaving. Everything that followed was years of lawsuits because the WWE thought they could bully him and he won all of the cases. People aren't following ANY advice. That's why Jim Ross has went on record multiple times saying a lot of the younger guys don't take advice. Why do you think William Regal fucked off so quickly?
