Another episode of Books, Books, Books, and this is one from very early in my crafting journey, way back in 2012, when I'd really only just started out.
It's based around images from the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady by Edith Holden, and for each of the twelve images, I've handwritten an extract of poetry which mentions the month in question. The cover is a Tim Holtz stamp; the pages are aged with Ranger Adirondack Colour Wash Sprays, which are sadly no longer available.
Cover - Tim Holtz Book Covers stamp set CMS103 by Stampers Anonymous
Images from Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady - digi files created by NiceCrane Designs (no longer in operation)
Other stamps inside - many and various. If there's one you really have to know about, let me know the month it appears on, and I'll do my best... but I'm making no promises - it's a long time ago!!

Thank you - I made it such a long time ago that I can mostly see only the things I would do differently now! But I think it's useful sometimes to look back down that creative road and see how far you've come.

Growing up my mother had a set of Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady dishes, so these images are very nostalgic and take me back to childhood. I ate my sirloin tips on rice off of those sparrows! 😂 My family is big into nature and birds and so we all loved that dish set. In fact, she still has those dishes and uses them daily. For my last birthday my brother got me the Diary itself, which was a very special gift. Edith Holden’s diary is an absolute pure delight. Thank you for sharing your charming Poetry book. Loved the Dylan Thomas quote. Cheers!! 🇺🇸 🇨🇿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🇬🇧

What a beautiful booklet. The poetry is beautiful and so are the stamps you used in this precious booklet. I love the Adirondeck colour wash sprays too. They are so concentrated and waterproof when dry. Luckily I still have some bottles in my stash and they are still fine. Looking forward to your next video.

Yes, I've got some Adironack Color Wash Sprays left to play with too... such intense colour, you're right, and yes, properly waterproof when dry - even on fabric, I've found (not that I've ever washed any of the fabric I've used them on!). So happy you enjoyed the video - thanks so much for watching and commenting.

It's a wonderful book, quite different to your nowadays style. The choice of the different stamps goes so well with the Edith Holden monthly images too. And of course, even 10 years ago it couldn't be a book without words 🙂🙃🙂.

Hello Alison! I love your handmade book that uses digital images from Edith Holden’s book as well as applicably timed poetry… I’ve had that book in my saved items on amazon for a couple of months or so which was actually when I first heard about it. What a lovely book it is - I’m not sure whether I would actually be able to dismantle it although… tearing out and discarding the page with the snake drawings on it would help start the dismantling process because I wouldn’t keep that page in the book - hence, it’s still in my saved items list. Anyway… I love the torn edges and how you aged your book and the simple closure that gives it an even older appearance. Thanks for sharing another volume for Books, Books, Books. Sorry I haven’t replied to Saturday’s FUN video yet - I haven’t watched it the second time yet and haven’t ended up being able to play with my new EAB stamps that finally arrived. Should I admit to purchasing your latest 3 stamp sets twice to ensure I actually got them since it wasn’t clear whether a couple of them were or weren’t available at the time of checkout. I guess I’ve done dumber things although I’m not normally obsessed! LOL I will look forward to playing this weekend for sure. Take Care and have a great rest of your week! 🙂

Oh dear... I'm sure you could find someone who'd like to buy the extra ones from you - I get enquiries almost daily about where to get hold of them and saying they're sold out in lots of places! I agree - there are books that simply can't be torn up... that's why it was nice to be on that digi design team way back in 2012, and be able to play with Edith Holden's imagery without tearing anything up. I hope you manage to carve out some play time this weekend, and that you have a wonderful time when you do. Thank you so much for your company and wonderful comments here.

What a gorgeous little book. I love the cover and those twiggy little stamps on the pages. I'm a bit taken with them myself at the moment. The poetry is so beautiful. I wonder if I can find any poems that suit our months in the southern hemisphere... probably won't hold a candle to Shakespeare and Elliot etc, though. I love to see the way your style has changed over the years. Mine is so different. And I'm learning more all of the time. Thanks Alison. 😊
